The Ticking Time Bomb The sun was high up in the clear sky, blinding Martin, Blake and Max while they were laying on the grass taking a break from playing cops and robbers. They were often called by many “immature” and “babies” for being 13 year olds in middle school and still playing childish games. They thought the games were the funnest things ever. Martin had never let that get to him because those two people beside him were his best friends since he could ever remember. One exciting event that was coming up really fast for them was Max’s birthday, even though they were all the same age, Max was the oldest, then it was Blake. He thought to himself that the movie they watched was amazing, it had everything: cars, lasers, explosions and even a happy ending for everyone. All the boys fell asleep while Max’s mom drove them home, the way back was a road with twists and turns for it was about thirty minutes till they would reach the house. In the car, Max and his mother were on the left side of the car, Martin on the right side and Blake was in the back seat. After making it through the twists and turns the car stopped at a red light then proceeded on to they way home. Since it late and no one was in the way the car sped up right to the speed limit, 55 mph. It was June 29th, the day set to say goodbye to Max Roger, one of Martin’s best friends. The only consolation that was given to him were, “Don’t worry he’s in a better place,” and “You have to remain calm in these situations.” Martin wore his freshly pressed black suit, he had worn it only one other time, at his grandma’s funeral. Martin brought a crisp white rose to lay on Max’s casket, everyone was allowed to go up front to say their goodbyes. It was Martin 's turn to walk to the front and rejoiced the old memories with a sad smile, that suddenly turned into a sorrow filled moment, braking the last straw. He fell to the floor sobbing, he didn’t care if it was in front of everyone, he couldn’t take it. There was a moment of silence before Martin’s vision blurred and loss feeling in his left side of his body. He knew this was a stroke caused from the aneurysm, it had ruptured, meaning he would soon meet Max again, and wait hopefully many more years to be all together with
