This is such a cruel and barbaric practice! The lovely bears are kept captive in a ridiculously small crush bar experiencing lifelong suffering and a living hell for them. The horrific fact is that their bile is extracted in an inhumane way! Across the Asian Countries primarily in the bear farms of Korea, Vietnam and China, more than 20,000 live bears live a life of torture imprisoned in cages simply for the extraction of their bile. The cage is a slightly large enough to accommodate the bear’s body. What is terrible is that the cage is equipped with a crush bar that enables the bile farmer to drain the bile easily from the bottom of the cage. As mentioned earlier, they will scar and hurt themselves repeatedly by constantly hitting or rubbing themselves against the bars of the tiny enclosures. To prevent the bears from lying on firm ground or hibernating, the bear farmers make their caged floors with iron bars. When the bears are no longer to be used for bile extraction, they will be taken out from the cages and thrown cruelly to the bear farm floor. Some of them are killed when they reached certain age. You may see carcasses of bears all over the farm floor. This is indeed a heart-wrecking scene! The above picture shows that the poor bear was taken out of the cage at a bear farm in Ha Long, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam to have its bile extracted. The bear was noticed to be unconscious when the extraction was done by the farm manager here. To escape from the remitting pain and torture, the bears are reported to kill their cubs before killing themselves. The unbearable trauma that the mom bear has to suffer both psychologically and physically has caused her to kill her cub before she made attempts to commit suicide and suicide is extremely unnatural in the case of
