In today society, people are easily looked by their college degree level and they can be judged by their degree. But not everybody can afford to go to college in order to get a degree. People have different reasons of not going to college but most of the reasons are because of the tuition. Tuition are too high and they can not afford it. If the free college situation does not make a great effect on the economy, I believe that college should be free because free college can encourage more students to go to college, earn a degree and can decide on their future without the worry of paying debt and contributing to create a better society with their knowledges.
College Athletes Being Paid College athletes put in more hours than some careers, but should they be turning into employees of the school over students? Paying college athletes would result in a change of how they perform as students. When a college athlete goes to college, they are there primarily as athletes and put their degree on the back-burner. The athletes get their degree paid for by playing for the school. If college athletes were to receive payment, the money would most likely not be spread out evenly among the sports.
A college education has become a necessity in today’s society. What if college was miraculously free. It would be like going to your public high school without paying that horrendous tuition fee. A lot of people say that free college is a dumb idea because it could potentially flood the market, and Others think it’s a great idea though, because more people would end up going to college because they don’t have to worry about financially paying for it. If there was a such thing about free college lower income students might reach graduation.
only having a high school diploma there is a 9.4% chance of being unemployed but having a doctoral degree or professional degree you have a 2.4-2.5% chance of being unemployed. Also by going to college your putting yourself out there and by doing this people will know you then you might be more likely to get a good job if you do good. But by going to college you have a lot more of a chance to have a good job and make good money. Some might argue that college is a waste of time or money. Yes it cost a lot but the job you get after your going to make way more money over your whole life paying for the college than you will with a minimum wage job.
As we all know, college can be very expensive. With the scholarships and grants, college student-athletes can go to school for free and get their day-to-day needs such as food, housing, clothes, etc. Ackerman and Scotts, purpose is to show that college is a learning experience and with the help of college sports, the student-athletes will have a chance to grow and be successful in life rather than being exploited. However, critics believe that college student-athletes should be paid salary, like professional athletes, because they want people to see the “athletes are the rule, not the expectation” (par 11). They want the audience to think that it’s a rule for student-athletes to go play pro after two years, will no expectation.
Also they might argue, college athletes should be considered students first, because by receiving direct payment, they would basically be employees or professionals rather than students. College athletes may forget that their main purpose at school is to learn and study, not to receive money. Finally, if you pay college athletes it would take money away from college budgets that could be used to invest in research, to hire better staff, or to renovate facilities and technology. If colleges are going to invest more money in a program, it should be in academics,
So, unless students and their families have been saving money or unless the student has enough scholarships to pay for college, they be forced to take out student loans, putting them into debt. Expensive college tuition makes students not want to go as a result, they will not have time for school and a full-time job to pay to live and this will drive the student to school. Nevertheless, free college tuition will help students in the long run as a result of they will not going to worry about paying their loans or debts when they are trying to start a family and synthesize a better life for their children and family. South Dakota would have high graduating numbers and also higher numbers of students going to colleges. Free college tuition would lead to more people going to school and being qualified for a variety of jobs.
Many things are changing such as minimum wage rising and the price on gas increasing. As for the cost of college it has sky rocked. We should expand federal aid assistance, because it will get students out of debt, they don’t have to worry about taking out loans, and not worry about getting part time jobs. Federal aid is financial assistance in the form of grants, loans, and work study funds.
College shouldn 't be free in my opinion because then schools wouldn 't be able to make money. Also if it were to be free a lot of students around the world would want to go to the same school and it would get to many people so it just wouldn’t work out. In the article “Should College Be Free?” it states “Students might take their college education less seriously if they don’t
Once you get out of college you may be on the search for a job while those who didn’t go to college might already have one, that’s great and all except if they happen to lose their job they don’t have a backup plan. After paying off student loans that is if you even have any you will from that point on start building up your money.
