For instance, National University explains, “Organization is another reason why handwriting is not graded.” This shows organization would not be able to be controlled in student’s handwriting. This is important because it shows organization would be graded on student’s writing. The opposing thesis is not valid because they think that young kids should have the proper Grammar, Spelling, and the organization. I disagree with them because they think that kids should have the proper handwriting which includes Spelling, Organization, and Grammar, but kids are barely learning. I am right because handwriting does not really matter because it does not have to be perfect it just has to be readable, this is why I disagree with the opposing
Standardized test scores should not be used for grade promotion. When a child is held back, it hurts their school experience. Children can get picked on because they had to stay behind. Being held back is just another way kids can get bullied. A child that is held back can’t hang out with children their age.
Therefore if the minorities were to be given a better chance and not put directly into special education with assumptions because of their ethnicity. This argument has been my third and final one. Conclusively I am strongly against school tracking because of its many effects on the children. Some of those effects that it brings upon the children is that the lower tracked students may not learn a lot. Also because some students could get educationally misplaced.
In the article, Arguments Against School Uniforms, it says “ policies(dress codes) place limitations on freedom of expression…” This quote explains why most kids think dress codes are living nightmares. When all students look the same, it doesn’t let them express who they really are. Whenever kids wear what they want, they can express their personality through what they wear. On the contrary, the only problem about not having dress codes is that some kids bully each other for what they wear, which is totally unacceptable. Despite one disadvantage of not wearing uniforms, the advantages of not having dress codes greatly outweigh the bad sides.
This leads to teachers struggling to teach students school subjects without causing controversy within the community. These are the teachers who want a better environment in which students grow up learning the truth about U.S. history. Censoring history is making it disappear which results in students’ poor knowledge of who they are or where they came
Have you heard about the numerous amounts of kids that have been injured due to fidget spinners? Kids are using fidget spinners at school and getting hurt when doing tricks. Liam believes that students at his school should be allowed to use fidget spinners in class. His principal, Principal Schwarts, thinks that the use of fidget spinners at school shouldn’t be allowed. Liam claims that they help with concentration but Principal Schwarts says that there is no evidence about fidget spinners helping with concentration, and are disruptive to others.
Well, banning books destructs the general well being of people;from someone not being able to have control over what they want to read, to keeping people from the best overall learning experience, and to not discussing real topics that need to be talked about. In the end, this only causes harm to people and their lives. Banning books is one of the most horrible ways of legal control over others and should never be allowed
Another reason students should not wear uniform is because students parents might struggle for paying for uniform and and the kids might feel uncomfortable wearing uniform. From synonym.com by Matt Rauscher... “Children outgrow uniforms quickly, and their uniforms may often get stained or torn. Replacement costs begin to add
If students are “protected” from real world situations they will not succeed in life. If someone has an unrealistic expectation of the world they will not know how to handle hard situations that come their way. Schools should educate their students about the world not “protect” them from it. It is not only am educators job to teach academics it is also their job to prepare their students for their life ahead of them. In conclusion this shows that banning books shelters students from the outside
These people ignore that while the real world can be a very corrupt place, it is also a place of democracy and equal opportunity, two things that are very limited in schools with zero tolerance policies. Zero tolerance policies don’t allow for differentiating between students, which is arguably one of its major problems (Saenz). By responding to every behavioral problem the same, the potential reasoning behind those misbehaving is continuously ignored. “We end up punishing honor students to send a message to bad kids. But the data indicate that the bad kids are not getting the message.” — Professor Russell Skiba
Pelton resigned solely because her students complained to their parents, who then decided to defend their students who were already in the wrong. This allows for children to grow up believing that they can cheat and get away with it. These children then spread this ideology to their friends who are also beginning to think it is okay to cheat. All these children are therefore growing up believing that it is okay to cheat; they then teach their own children that cheating is an acceptable behavior. This results in a national decline in integrity because the upcoming generations are being raised with the ideology that it is appropriate for them to
This is one of those debates that happens over and over again. My judgement on school uniforms is a yes and a no. It would stop bullying over clothing but it basically tells the kids that they can’t express themselves at school. School uniforms would stop distractions but the children would feel like they can’t show their differences in clothing like some kids like colorful stuff and some have traditional clothing and some like certain things that they like to dress in. School uniforms are not a bad idea but the flaw is how the uniforms affect the students minds.
Spanking is a form of corporal punishment that is commonly used to discipline children all around the world. This form of punishment typically consists of an adult striking the child’s bottom or hand as a reaction to unwanted behavior. There are many arguments that are made on whether a child should be spanked or not, many people tend to believe it’s fair while other believe it’s simply wrong. A growing body of research has shown that spanking and other forms of physical discipline can pose serious risks to children, but many parents aren’t hearing the message. Those who do not believe in spanking say spanking is a form of child abuse.
