One positive effect of youth sports is that they help teach athletes important and long lasting lessons to have during their life. For example, a competitive environment teaches kids how to handle pressure and criticism (Mango 3). Most sports have situations that put athletes in tight spots. Even though they push them out of their comfort zone, it teaches them how to keep cool and figure it out. Some may say that too much pressure for youths can leave a negative impact on them.
Competition only makes children bound to be winners. It also discourages sportsman spirit. Instead of being a source of healthy growth, these competitive sports have started becoming the source of depression for children when they don’t fulfil the expectations of their parents. These sports should enhance the sportsman spirit in children and must be beneficial for their mental and physical health. Concentrating on winning or losing spoils the fun that games hold.

It’s true how many adults say that kids are easily impressionable and take lead from parents, guardians, or others around them. What kids are taught from a young age can shape how they view the world, act, respond, and even live. Surprisingly, giving a kid a participation trophy in sports is one of those things that many debates about because giving one to them will depend on how their life is shaped and what lessons they are taught. Not giving a kid a participation trophy in sports is more beneficial in teaching them the lessons of proper effort and winning or losing. It also shows how diminishing hard work which can lead to negative outcomes.
Simulated violent, role playing games are a delightful way to have fun. It is true that violent concept of these games may lead some to believe that they teach kids that being potent is okay, when in reality it is not acceptable to be violent. While that has some truth behind it, it also teaches kids valuable lessons of teamwork and sportsmanship. Along with the previous lessons the games are a source tactical skills like planning, compelling them to be aware of their surroundings, and it implies the message to kids that the outside world isn’t always safe or what they expect it to be. These types of games bring the community together and are a diverting activity for adolescents to be participating in.
Adults should trust kids with these sports, so if they push themselves, let them do that so they get out of their comfort zone. Kids know when they need to stop and push themselves so they excel. Starting early in sports, there are some pro’s and con’s to think about. Some favorability to an early start these days are learning basic technique, strengthening muscles to help prevent injury, and to decide whether the child likes the sport. “Personally, I believe that you should start kids early because everyone needs to know the very basic technique to play any sport, also though it can’t be completely prevented stronger muscles lessen the chance of an injury” said Georgia Bolis. Late starts force your child to catch up with all the learning that they missed. With pro’s come con’s, some con’s too early sports are kids being forced to play, the potential for an injury, and the pressure to perform.
A Competitive sport is very good at a young age to keep children on a good road to no drugs so it will reduce the drug use in the world and they will be healthy so go against obesity. Competitive sports are good at a young age because if the children like the sport they can go and pursue it more. However competitive sports can also be bad because some children will experience permanent brain damage. So it can go both ways depending on the parent of the child or children. But schools should allow both competitive and noncompetitive sports in schools for example if they have competition that all students have to participate in.
Majority of kids won 't have long-lasting injuries anyways. I would rather have my children playing sports that might get them a little scratched up than seeing my kids turn to drugs and getting themselves in trouble. It teaches them discipline, how to be responsible,and to manage their time.
