Good afternoon everyone. Today, we are going to bring forth a controversial issue that is raised by parents-to-be worldwide, which is, should parents be allowed to choose the sex of their unborn babies? Here we will debate on whether parents should have such a right in determining the sex of a child before they are even conceived. Please keep in mind that there are certain reasons that parents prefer to choose the sex of their child and according to WHO (World Health Organization) the main reasons are 1) medical reasons, 2) family balancing reasons and 3) gender preference reasons. We can all now agree that bringing a baby into this world is a gift from God that shouldn’t be taken for granted. It is a blessing that needs the utmost love, care and attention. Please listen carefully to both sides of the debate as we would like you to vote either for or against the issue. Argument 1 (With) Unfortunately there is a high rate of abortions that take place worldwide. According to the …show more content…
As one feminist philosopher, Tabitha Powledge, argued that "choosing the sexes of children is one of the greatest displays of sexism". (With) Unfortunately we have always lived in a time where discrimination against women is evident. It is an issue that has been unchangeable for thousands of years. So if it's not something that can be easily changed then why not change the fulfillment that a parent longs for by giving them the opportunity to live within their own home and feeling satisfied amongst their own family. Before we can change the world and satisfy others, we first need to be satisfied ourselves. Argument 3
Abortion has always been a controversial topic, and with debates from the recent presidential election bringing abortion back into the spotlight, it is clear that people have varying views as well as a great misunderstanding of abortion. Often, the morality of such action is widely discussed, and stones are quickly thrown. I believe that abortion should be legally and safely obtainable in all cases for women who feel it is the best path to take in their pregnancy. While abortion is currently legal in all 50 states, some lawmakers are working to make abortions virtually unobtainable. For example, in Ohio, a heartbeat bill sat on the desk of Governor Kasich.
• Women do not always choose to have unprotected sex. Coercion, manipulation, rape and the abuse of alcohol and other drugs can deny a woman her right to act freely or use contraception. • An abortion performed safely with no complications will not reduce a woman’s future fertility. • Abortion does not cause ongoing emotional distress for most
Out of all pregnancies 4 in 10 babies are aborted. There are roughly 57 million unborn children that are killed in the U.S. alone. That is about 155 babies per hour and around 1 every 24 seconds. Some may disagree, but abortion is wrong for these reasons it is murder and murder is illegal, years after the abortion they will regret having the abortion and the woman may end up psychologically harmed.
Abortion is not only a fluctuating concept in our society, but an ethical and emotional debate, as well. The image I have chosen presents concepts from a cultural and historical background, as well as presents an ethical, emotional, and logical appeal to the audience. The debate about abortion has simply been overblown and exhausted. The truth of the matter is, abortion is murder. Ending a life, whether innocent or guilty, is murder.
Abortion is a huge problem, not just in the United States but also all over the world. Abortion is a termination of a pregnancy, usually within the first 28 weeks. Some people believe abortion is murder, while others believe it is not. Abortion is a social problem. In order to be a social problem, the issue must affect a group of people.
Abortion is describes as a medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of the fetus. In today’s society, abortion is seen in one of two ways. Abortion is described positive towards women’s right, when believed that pregnant women should have the right to choose whether they want to have an abortion or not. However, abortion is also viewed negatively with pro-life activist who stand against abortions and believe a fetus should have the right to live regardless of the mothers situation. There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to abortion, making it a controversial topic in society.
VIII. Abortion is a really serious thing and should only be pondered after the persons involved have considered other alternatives such as give it to the other persons that in need of a baby as adoption. IX. I don’t believe that the abortion argument should be about rights, but about potentiality. X.
I formulated this decision comparing my stance on why having consensual sex should result in permission of the fetus to use a woman’s body. Consensual sex isn’t a necessary act of survival like walking outside would be. Consensual sex is merely based off on wanting to experience a form of pleasure. The need for this pleasure is a weak justification to deny usage of another body when the fetus requires it. In other words, you can completely cut consensual sex out of your life with ease, and avoid the controversy over allowing permission for a fetus to grow.
Doris Gudino Professor Chounlamountry Political Science 1 27 July 2015 Pro-Choice Anyone? A woman has, undoubtedly, the freedom to procreate, but once a woman chooses to retreat from that freedom, a commotion arises. Abortion is a woman’s choice for many reasons. It’s her body, therefore, no one else can decide for said person.
Rape happens (pause), health issues occur (pause), and so do teen pregnancies(pause). Our bodies, our lives, our right to decide. Worldwide, 47,000 women die a year from unsafe abortions (pause). Anything from a simple herbal tea to a prescribed drug and occasionally even going to Mexico to have it done illegally.
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
Abortion is a sensitive topic. There are good reasons on both sides of the argument. Discussing abortion can help us understand the pros and cons of abortion and how it can help or hurt our country. Abortion could possibly benefit our country in multiple ways, financial and in terms of safety. Abortion should be legal.
Abortion Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by abolishing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion is a very controversial topic, for example, one side of this topic believes abortion is cruel and committing murder, while the other side believes that since the fetus or embryo isn 't developed enough to be considered a living human being yet, that abortion is not commiting murder. Despite this information, there is a lot more to abortion than the opinion of it being “right” or “wrong”. According to “Students for life” who are pro life, about 1 million abortions are executed each year in the US. That data adds up to 22% of pregnancies ending in abortion.
Is abortion becoming a modern life cause of casualty? Should abortion be completely banned? Why should we fight against abortion? According to statistics, there is an equal “yes” and “no” answers regarding the issue, ventilating opinions over the matter, thus fortifying arguments revolving it. Indeed, abortion is becoming a modern life cause of casualty and is also becoming an option.
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by eliminating a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own. There is much debate over the moral, ethical, and legal issues of abortion. There are two sides on the issue of abortion that will be discussed. The first one is pro-life. These individuals are anti-abortion, which means they agree that an embryo or fetus is a human with a right to life.
