Should People Be Allowed To Keep Exotic Animals Like Chimpanzees Or Tigers? Have we ever thought of having a chimpanzee or a tiger as a pet instead? These animals are referred to as exotic pets and they have gained popularity around the world. Do you think it is easy to tame a wild animal? The issue of keeping exotic pets such as a tiger or chimpanzee has been a contentious topic with animal activists up in arms over the issue. All of us love pets and we limit it to regular pets while some of us have extended their love of pets to animals like chimpanzees and tigers. Before considering taking a chimpanzee or a tiger as a pet, it is important to weigh the pros and cons of keeping them as pets. According to the Schuppli, and Fraser, it is estimated that, an average of 3.5 people die from attacks from exotic people (360). For this reason, people should not be allowed to keep exotic animals like chimpanzees or tigers.
