Domestication is not something that happens in one or two generations: it takes hundreds or thousands of years” (Lewis). Exotic animals are unpredictable and undomesticated. The definition of domesticated is an animal that is tamed and kept as a pet or on a farm, a tiger, however, does not fit that definition because it is not tamed, it is a wild animal. So, think again before you buy that tiger. In addition, that tiger could be spreading diseases and there are many other dangers to having that
Those products aren’t like the ones we use, they have different types of chemicals and they try them on the animals to see if it will affect us. Animals testing should not occur because killing an animal is not helping us It’s messing up the world. Animals aren’t something that we could manipulate they are living creatures that have feelings just like us. Humans wouldn’t like to be in cages or laboratories right? Animal testing is cruel because scientists do many horrible tests on the animals.
Animal rights activists argue that it is inhumane to house animals in inadequate habitats and are upset that many species that aren’t considered endangered are being held in zoos around the world. Zoo advocates argue for the conservation and research of endangered species, and thoroughly work to benefit different species and keep them healthy. Both arguments base their reasoning off of varying ideas, animals rights activists address the physical downfalls of animals in captivity, how it is nearly impossible to perfectly recreate an animals natural habitat, and the abuse of animals in captivity. Zoo advocates argue that the conservation and research of endangered species is necessary to keep them from extinction, they fight for humane treatment of animals around the world and work hard to show the real problem in today’s environment. Endearing Emotions As you can imagine, stories of animal abuse and the destruction of natural habitats around the world cultivate a strong emotional foundation that drives many people’s
Are Zoos Unethical By:Kalynn Deppe An issue that has been hotly debated since the brink of zoos has been whether they are ethical or not. Although some believe that zoos can be beneficial to animals, thousands of research has shown this not to be true. The main reasons zoos are devious is because, there artificial environments are harmful, the animals are more prone to diseases, and it can damage children's views on society. To begin, zoos are unprincipled due to the fact that they take animals out of the wild and place them in synthetic environments that have failed to meet the animals designated standard of living. For example, research has shown that some larger animals need for space is not fulfilled in their confined cages.
Body One of the advantages of having zoos, is to provide protection to some animals that are endangered. Animals such as the Tiger, Pandas and African Chimpanzees are kept inside zoos in order to preserve their species and prevent them from going extinct. They are well protected from their predators which allows them to breed and, hopefully, repopulate their species in order to keep their species alive. One of the examples is that zoos implemented International Breeding Programs in order to help these endangered species breed. As the numbers of that
Likewise, infant chimpanzees are frequently taken alive and sold in cities as pets. As a result, chimpanzee have already disappeared completely from four countries and are under tremendous pressure everywhere else they live. The photo should not have been included as it shows only one perspective of the situation and does not include the overall outlook for the chimpanzees. The photo on page 114 is inappropriate as it creates a lot of controversy. Not only does the photo present a religious bias that diminishes the credibility of the article, but it also may offend those who are religious.
is a ridiculous idea because they are unable to reciprocate these rights onto others, due of their lack in rational thought. We, as a society, are unable to teach primates to go against their natural instincts, you cannot, for example, teach an animal not to hunt for survival or kill for protection. Furthermore, the advantages gained from captivity of primates, for research and educational purposes, are extensive. If we were to give primates basic human rights, we would have to release them from confinement under all circumstance, including zoos, sanctuaries, and laboratories. Animal testing and research has lead to many great discoveries, including treatments for AIDs and cancer, it is a huge factor of how we got to be as advanced of a society as we are today.
The eighth most dangerous pet is the scorpion. The worst thing is, is that it is legal to own them in Illinois. These exotic animals are captured from their natural environments to be sold as pets, and that is not appropriate. Reptiles, including all types of snakes and lizards all pose a serious threat to humans. Non-domesticated felines, such as, lions,
Individuals are easily able to obtain an animal because of the low budget; however, people don’t recognize the harmful aspects of owning these growing exotic animals. In addition, this leads to the animals not being taken care of because of the unprepared owner. Animals require intensive care such as “living space and nutrition” (“License the Cats”). For example, If a tiger isn 't given the space and nutrition that is needed, it can lead into the tiger turning violent and result in the owner being mauled because
Zoos may be very necessary for endangered species. But, there are different ways how to save and continue endangered species, and every zoo have had choice how they do it. Some zoos are breeding endangered species trying to continue the species, but that is not right, because it leads to very complicated health issues. For example white tiger who are very rare animal, breeding requirements are that all white tigers parents must be white tigers too, to get only white tiger, and so are zoos breeding white tigers fathers with their daughters and mothers with their sons. But some zoos again are preserving and studying endangered species in captivity to save endangered species in the wild.
What if it is poisonous? What if it killed someone? I think only normal animals like dogs, cats, bunnies, and fish should be allowed to be pets. Your exotic pet could hurt the owner! I know I wouldn’t want something in my house that I thought would hurt me.
A cheetah compared to a cat is an exotic animal compared to a pet. Exotic animals are animals that stay wild, do not have resources that are easily accessible, and can be dangerous which means that humans should not be allowed to keep them as pets. If exotic animals stay wild then they should not be allowed as a pet. In the text piece entitled “Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger” by Mia Lewis it states “Exotic animals are something else. They are wild animals with wild animal instincts, even when born in captivity”.
Johnny Depp stated, If you don’t like seeing pictures of violence towards animals being posted, you need to help stop the violence, not the pictures. Animals are good to have around because they are entertaining to watch and play with. Animals are also good for getting rid of the bad thing that come into our world like the bad bugs. Animals are even used to test products such as shampoo ,medicine, and perfume. So therefore, Animal testing should not occur because it is hurting the animals and making them go extinct.
Animal Captivity Bears don 't normally ride bikes, tigers don 't normally jump through fire, and elephants don 't normally stand up on their back two legs. Laws that protect traveling animals are not enforced enough to make a difference, and are highly ignored. Circuses should not be allowed to capture wild animals for entertainment purposes because the animals are abused, the populations are decreasing, and the animals don 't have enough freedom. To better understand why eliminating animal captivity for entertainment purposes is the best thing to do, someone must think about the opposing viewpoint. Most argue that the eliminating animal captivity for entertainment purposes is more humane.
