There are many different opinions on if professional athletes get paid to much compared to the median household income. Professional athletes should take what they have for granted because it is a very generous career. I'm not saying that it is totally wrong to get paid to play a professional sport I just feel that it is an exceeding amount than it needs to be. So overall, do professional athletes get paid too much? I agree with the people that say, yes they do get paid too much.
Professional athletes are getting paid more than individuals that help our society in a good and helpful way. In fact, they are getting way overpaid. “Unless you’re finding a cure for cancer or creating world peace, I don't know if anybody deserves to get that much money,” said Drew Brees, quarterback for NFL team New Orleans Saints, after signing the 5 year 100$ million dollar contract. I believe that this is true, that professional athletes are indeed getting overpaid. There are many individuals that affect our society in a positive strong way and are receiving less money than professional athletes do.
College Athletes Should be Paid Working all day every week and never being paid is a nightmare to all. Who would appreciate breaking their backs and never reaping the reward for their hard work? Well college athletes do this day in and day out. Starting around their sophomore year in high school students start the long recruiting process, so that they will be on the scene when their senior year rolls around.
Elite athletes are constantly striving to be the best athletes they can be. For this to occur, athletes tend to risk their health just so they can come out on top with regards to their performance. Taking risks is socially constricted and one may habitually answer to risk. Athletes always crave to do their best, but in doing so, it occasionally leads to other issues. The more one trains the more stress that is put on the body.
Many believe that college athletes are similar to professional athletes and that they deserve to be paid for what they do. However, many college athletes are able to receive many other benefits, therefore additional compensation is not necessary. College athletes go to school to play their sport, but also go to get an education. Their main role is to prepare themselves for later in life, and being paid would take away if they were being paid. Student athletes are not professional athletes or entertainers, and should not be paid for playing on a college team.
For many year people have used outdated protective gear for sports, for as long as anyone can remember and as far back as any book has gone, there has been protective equipment. Many years ago in Ancient Egypt, the Pharaoh of Egypt would wear protective gear so nobody could assassinate him. Now, in almost every sport professional and youth athletes are wearing protective equipment. There are classes in colleges and universities the teach sports safety and what protective gear should be worn, and when it should be worn. Many youth sports leagues can not afford the top gear, so kids are using worn out gear which increases the chance of injuries which could even be lifelong.
Although many athletes get high salaries and sometimes help charities most athletes spend it on drugs, women and fast cars. First and foremost, children are starving, homeless, and dying while athletes are out in the city living the “fast life.” Children are starving without any food hoping and praying that they get to see the light of the sun the next day while athletes are out partying getting wasted out of their minds not worrying about the massive headache they 're gonna have the next day. Athletes should not get as much money as they do, more money should go to charities and to help children and people out starving and dying.
Persuasive Argument National Athletes are/are not Paid Too Much The topic, pro athletes are/are not getting paid too much, is a heated argument between people. Have you ever thought about it? Well, an answer that I’m sure would be agreed with is that national athletes are paid way too much money. Some people might say that they deserve what they get, but there really isn’t any supportive reasons for that.
Wouldn’t it be nice to earn millions of dollars to play a sport for fun? Being a professional athlete is something almost everybody has dreamed about and only a modest percentage have achieved. Sports are part of everyday life for most people in the country and millions of people idolize the players. Professional athletes are making over and above what they deserve. this money should be given to doctors and the armed forces.
