Have you ever met a criminal? Roger from “Thank You M’am” and jimmy from “A retrieved Reformation” are both criminals. Roger is a boy that robs a lady named Mrs. Jones. So roger can get some blue suede shoes. Jimmy is a guy that safe cracks for a living. A guy named ben price wants to stop him, but he lets jimmy go. He fell in love which sorta saved him from another jail sentence. Roger and jimmy are both criminals they both learn a lesson from different people, and they both got away from their crimes. Roger and jimmy are both criminals. They both rob but in different ways. Roger attempted to rob mrs. Jones, for her money. Roger wanted money to get blue suede shoes. He tried to grab her purse but mrs. Jones stopped him. On the other hand, jimmy is a professional safe cracker. He is a professional because he has a briefcase of expensive tools to help him be a safe cracker. He has been to jail for safe cracking. He was making a-lot of money while safe cracking. Roger learned a lesson because mrs. Jones took him and taught him his lesson with care and discipline because, she thinks that everybody deserves a second chance. On the other hand, jimmy learns that safe cracking is not good unless your trying to save somebody or something. Jimmy tried to save Annabelle's niece because, she was stuck in the vault the vault closed on her. The vault was brand new and was very secure so it would be hard to unlock it, but jimmy had to but the bank would have to buy a new one again because they have not even put a code on it yet. At the beginning of A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest Gaines, Grant and Jefferson who are two black men who have drastically different views on life, they started out as bitter and angry people. Towards the end , these men evolved into caring and brave characters due to the influence of motherly-like women. At first Jefferson didn’t want to listen to Grant because he believed that life was near the end, and he thought that teaching kids wasn’t going to get them anywhere since they will eventually become the people who unload wood. Miss Emma and Tante Lou instructed Grant to visit Jefferson and see him stand up for his rights and so did Vivian, Mr.Wiggin’s girlfriend. However, the Painter Lady from the text ,“The War Of The Wall”, caused many fights because she didn't tell anyone anything about her. Both, Jimmy Valentine and the Painter Lady keep quiet, make people mad, and then turn out to be good people at the end of the story.
One lesson is to not let others control your life. Another lesson is letting people help one’s self. The final lesson is to limit the amount of alcohol one consumes. Firstly, a lesson learned from reading the novel, is that one should not let other people control one’s life.

In the books final chapter, is where he flashes back to the crime that sent him to prison.
Ruth whispered to her daughter that burglars broke in and tied her up. The neighbors looked for Ruth’s husband and found him faced down bleeding on the pillow. The police then investigated the crime scene and saw that Ruth had no injuries and no bruises to be found. The detectives then found in Ruth’s husband tools having blood. Then Ruth blamed her insurance businessmen named Judd Gray and the police then tracked him down, and he said that Ruth asked him to bring poisoned whiskey, he blamed it all on her.
“Charles” by Shirley Jackson is a realistic fiction cliffhanger about Laurie, his adjustment to kindergarten, and a kid Charles, who seems to be a dreadful influence on the kindergarteners. The story is set in Laurie 's home and at his school. Laurie, his mother, his father, and Charles are the characters in the story. The lesson in the story is that lying leads to more problems than it solves and the author uses foreshadowing and word choice to show the lesson.
In the novel A Place to Stand, Jimmy Santiago Baca goes through many difficult hardships in his life that land him in prison for many years, but in the end, it ultimately worked out in his favor because he is now well-known for his poetry and screenplays and have won many prestigious awards on top of that. Roger is a skinny 14-15 year old boy who tries to steal Mrs. Jones purse.
When many people think about maturing, they think about getting older and having more responsibility when they are young, but this is not necessarily true. You can mature and learn Life lessons at any time in your life from anyone, young or old, as shown by the characters in Part One of Harper Lee’s novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. Two of these characters who display maturing qualities include Uncle Jack Finch and Scout Finch, the daughter of Atticus Finch. Both of these characters learn a new moral about Life throughout the course of the novel. Uncle Jack learns to listen to both sides of the story in an argument before punishing anyone, and Scout learns to understand a person’s situation before forming an opinion about them.
