Assistance dogs today do not receive as much credit as they deserve. One may be asking what is an assistance dog? According to the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), an assistance dog is, “Any guide dog, signal dog, or other animals individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability” (“Commonly Asked Questions About Service Animals in Places of Business”). Only .9 % of disabled people have a service dog, and in the U.S. 43 million people were recorded to have disabilities back in 1990 (Service Dog Central). There needs to be a bigger emphasis on the training programs available for assistance dogs, and how they can benefit our community.
Now there are rules at a dog park even though you can take your dog off their leash in most dog parks. But in some areas you have to have a permit to be able to let your dog off their leash and provide it if asked, which most do not or don 't bring the permit. One of the many rules that arent enforced onto dog owners at dog parks, and normal things that can 't be stopped such as when a dog attacks another dog or a complete stranger it 's an action that will eventually
Service dogs or different service animals? A man has a service animal that is not a dog so the service animal won 't be able to enter a public place. If you were the president would you change the law of only service dogs in public places?I think people should be allowed to take other service animals besides dogs in public places. Madison Bumgarner Mrs. Gallos English III Honors 22 March 2018 Is Your Service Dog Legally Certified? Even though many people believe emotional support dogs are considered service dogs and should have the same rights as the others, owners of service dogs are treated unfairly because of the increase in numbers of fake service dogs. This affects the ability for one to use a service dog to its full potential. People cannot be asked to leave a public place if the business thinks it is a fake dog because some service dogs are simply under-trained. The population of those using fake service dogs or emotional support animals are ruining the ability for the disabled to use them without being questioned.

Dog parks good or bad? Residents of this particular city say, the city should build a dog park in their locaton. The residents believe there isnt enough space for excersize for their pet. Also because it is against city ordinance for dogs to be off-leash in public areas the dogs in the city can not play freely. The dogs are forced to play in a small yard with little to no privacy.

The cities provide us with parks and they rely on the people to respect and follow the rules in place. often the rules are heeded and there could be a lawsuit waiting to happen because if an encounter were to occur whether its dog vs dog or dog vs victim its rightful for the individual to sue not only the attackers owner but the city as well for not enforcing the law. although this could be factual its also possible that there wouldnt be any attacks and that the dogs could actually get along if provided the space to socialise, exersize and hang out. The issue of dogs noise levels that prevents residents from sleeping as it says in the opposing passage can easily be addressed by setting an appropriate time frame and having the park closed at a reasonable hour. The opposing passage stated that the park is too expensive and that the fence alone is 70,000 dollars and that dog owners shouldnt pressure the city to provide the space they cannot provide themselves.
Imagine living in the perfect home, the place you’ve always lived with friends, family and thousands of miles to roam around and explore. Only to wake up in a cage with the eyes of humans glaring and the flash of cameras reflecting off the glass wall. It looks like home, but the grass is fake, family and friends are gone, food only comes at certain times and the only roaming there is to do remains in the area of the closure. To this day, zoos and aquariums are not banned, but that has not stopped people from fighting for the freedom and rights of animals. The debate between whether zoos and aquariums should banned or not has become an ongoing issue and still is today. Although zoos and aquariums do contribute to the economy, they should be banned because animals in captivity suffer from starvation and health issues, often die prematurely, and can easily cause harm to people due to be kept in confined areas.
