College tuition The cost of going to college is getting ridiculous. If a student were to apply to an out of state public college in 1997 they would be paying on average $8,840; now at the same out of state public school they would be paying around $26,010. Are we expecting people who have little money to stop their education even if they want to keep going or be in a huge amount of debt? If colleges were tuition free or had minimized costs the economy would be better or could improve and so would the lives of millions of people.
In today society, people are easily looked by their college degree level and they can be judged by their degree. But not everybody can afford to go to college in order to get a degree. People have different reasons of not going to college but most of the reasons are because of the tuition. Tuition are too high and they can not afford it. If the free college situation does not make a great effect on the economy, I believe that college should be free because free college can encourage more students to go to college, earn a degree and can decide on their future without the worry of paying debt and contributing to create a better society with their knowledges.
For those who have graduated from high school and will continue with their higher education, many if not all of these students will have to pay out of pocket for college. Most of students think that if they graduate from college or a four-year university they will have a chance to work in the professional field rather than work for minimum wage. It is an opportunity for anyone, particularly those who have low wages, to earn a degree and make more money. In the article “Expanding Community College Access” from The New York Times, President Obama states that tuition for community college should be free, because the American workforce is not educated enough for the global and national workplace. The presiding evidence and statements from experts
College should be free in the United States for multiple reasons. These reasons include, but are not limited to, the following. College is too expensive for the majority of the population of the United States. If college was free, it would let people explore their horizon, and have an easier time finding a desirable career. College has been proven to be effective, and even shown to have been working in the united states for over 100 years. For these reasons, college should be free, for it would help so many individuals, communities, and the economy. Lastly, the level of debt that has begun to take claim to the lives of the American people is a huge problem. Among these reasons, the debt each student accumulates is the most important issue to fix for them.
By attending college, higher job opportunities will be available for much more people. With a higher educational background, the average income of an American will grow, which permits people to be able to afford the higher prices of taxes. Overall, America should allow free four-year colleges and universities available to all citizens. The overall positive impact that free college can have on our country- such as lower debt and lesser unemployed and homeless- will allow for the United States economy to be more stable and allow for its citizens to greatly benefit
As the school year comes to a close and the only thing on a senior’s mind is how are they going to pay for college? Throughout our high school careers we always get asked what our plans are after high school and never how are you going to pay for that next step of your life after high school. We barely get prepared for the real world in high school we are forced to take classes the school thinks will be good for us not what we think or what will be best for what we want to study for in college. How are high schoolers supposed to be able to pay for college when they don’t get prepared enough in high school to go on to that next level of schooling and have to more than likely go into debt just to be able to pay for it. Colleges should no longer cost an insane amount of money to go there.
A free college tuition is definitely necessary for students because some are paying for college themselves, the college workload is stressful enough, and scholarships, grants, and financial aid doesn’t cover all costs. College tuition should be free because it would create positive changes for people attending college, universities, and the economy. First, most students are paying for their own tuition themselves because either they want to be independent and do so, or because their parents have made that decision for them. According to Newberry, the average cost a year of undergraduate studies at a private university now tops $21,000.
Reducing College Tuition College can either be a rude awakening for some students or it can be an opportunity for higher learning, but the goal is the same: to obtain a higher education and become successful. The purpose of college is to open people’s minds to new thoughts and ideas. Higher education offers knowledge and wisdom, but most of all, it offers experience, which is what people look for and desire when they think about attending college. Unfortunately, there is just one barrier keeping people from obtaining higher education, and that barrier is the price tag of college tuition.
Without the years of hard work, going to college would not be a significant matter. If college was free, gaining a college degree would be almost equivalent to a high school degree as almost anyone would be able to obtain
Long ago, there have been massive arguments about whether or not community college should be free. Nowadays, a college education has become fundamental in today's society. Each year, education is becoming challenging in today's marketplace. Thus, many people, including students question whether community college tuition should be free given. I firmly believe free community college should be provided and financed by the U.S. government. It will encourage learners to concentrate on their studies, and encourage them to work harder in school. In result, a significant increase in student grades will rise. Therefore, the opportunity will create student, specifically low-income student to have more advantages.
College is one of the most important and life changing times in the life of an American. Leaving high school behind and venturing out to the adult world is an amazing experience that every individual should experience. However, young adults from every corner of the country leave college with crippling debt or do not go to their preferred college of choice. College education should be cheaper as it will help families and students financially and give them the satisfaction with having the opportunity to go to their first choice for college.
A college education has become a necessity in today’s society. What if college was miraculously free. It would be like going to your public high school without paying that horrendous tuition fee. A lot of people say that free college is a dumb idea because it could potentially flood the market, and Others think it’s a great idea though, because more people would end up going to college because they don’t have to worry about financially paying for it.
All we need is people that believe that getting a better education is better for you in long run that’s the only way education is key. If we had more big companies putting more money into the schools people can start lowering the tuition this is starting plan if we start having way more funding into the schools though the government we would have a lot more kids trying to get into college. I read a survey on online in seen that some kids in college had a debate on this topic one kid that free college means high school all over again meaning many people would take college for granted if it was free because the way they act in high school saying they won 't be able to go to college because they act bad in high school. the student said college is for people who really do care about their
A child typically will not think about their life ahead. Although, they may not think about college, it is still there. Life ahead means acquiring a job to earn money for everything else and if one wants a well paying job in the future, college is the best option. College education is worth the cost because it forms a happier and heavier educated person, college is not as expensive as one may think, and the college pays for itself once there is a job to pay for it.
Cheaper College Tuition in The United States On average, Americans spend 62.6 billion dollars on college tuition every year. On top of the money spent on tuition, the amount of student loan debt in the U.S. is increasing every year. In 2013 the student loan debt reached $1.2 trillion. There are several countries throughout the world that have cheaper tuition or even free tuition. The majority of countries with cheaper or free tuition have higher international test scores.
