In Germany shopping hours are restrictive. This is because of the Supreme Court who decided that Sundays, as well as public holidays, must be protected for religious reasons and therefore most stores must be closed. Although there are many countries where open stores on a Sunday are a normal thing or even stores that are open 24/7 looking at Walmart over in the US for instance. For Germans, it is a rarely treat.
