As time goes by, babies grow up to become adults. Adults grow up to become elderly. Along the way, some adults become parents, and becoming a parent includes becoming responsible and making decisions. Decisions are made on how the parent feels about the topic. A topic can be as simple as letting a child play a sport. Some parents may believe a child playing a sport is a good decision because it would allow their child to interact with others and the child will become active; however, other parents may believe a child playing a sport is a bad decision because the child would be at risk of getting injured. Another good topic is whether or not a teenager should have a job in high school. I believe a teenager should not have a job in high school because the child should put their focus on studies, enjoying the young life, and being involved in other activities. To begin with, a teenager in high school should be focused on their studies before anything else. School is important for the future. School educates children for the life ahead. Most jobs require at least a high school diploma, so doing well in school is important to get a decent job. If a teenager is working a job, the job is taking away from the child’s …show more content…
Being a teenager only happens once in a person’s lifetime. A person will have to work a job from adulthood until retirement in order to provide a life for themselves and their families. A teenager should not have to take on the responsibilities of a job until they must. A job requires time, commitment, and hard work. A teenager should put that time, commitment, and hard work into other aspects in their lives. A teenager has their whole lives to work ahead of them after high school. Overall, I believe a teenager should not have to work until they are out of high
A lot of teenagers would rather be at home rather than learn, and become something in life. A good amount of education can get you somewhere in life, believe me, I’ve had experience. “One survey found that one out of every five teen girls actually wants to be a teen mom.” Our generation is going down. Teenagers would rather drop out and become mothers and fathers at such a young age, I have nothing against it, but education would help you achieve your dreams, and your desires.
High youth unemployment is not as bad as most think it is. When teens aren’t working in the summer they are in the classrooms learning. In Derek Thompson’s essay, “Teenagers Have Stopped Getting Summer Jobs --- Why?” ,he talks about how teens are in the classrooms rather than getting jobs. Thompson supports his claim that students are staying in school instead of getting jobs by asking rhetorical questions and using logos by showing graphs and other statistics. In the first half of his essay Thompson presents his claim that teens aren’t working as much, not because they are lazy but because they are taking more summer classes.
Introduction Imagine you or one of your family members was someone who fights for what they believe is right. Activism is very important and is when someone speaks up for what they believe in. This chapter will explain what activism is and how it could help many people around the world. Activism What is activism?
Currently, 55.3% of teens aged 16-24 across the US are employed and in the workforce. This raises the question, what is so beneficial for the workforce, that teens employ from the age of 16-24? In Ben Sasse's article, "What to Do with the Kids This Summer? Put ’Em to Work", he addresses his direction towards how teenagers should spend their time during the summer. He settles that teenagers should be put into the work environment to demonstrate good ethics and qualities of being a U.S. citizen instead of having a 3-month school break.
The article,”Teenagers’ Work Can Have Downsides” written by Jerald G. Bachman, discusses many advantages and disadvantages of working as a teenager. Although, Bachman has good reasonings for both sides, teenagers should be able work. There are good outcomes that come from teenagers having a job, they can learn many useful skills that they can use in the future. They could be saving up money to help pay for college. Having a job can help students become more responsible.
The newly changed law that high schoolers can’t skip college and go pro is thought to be changed in the future. The current law says that the athlete must be at least 19 years old to enter the league. Whether the law is for or against high schoolers going pro, it will change basketball at all levels. From peewee to pro it will all be different. Being able to succeed in the NBA without going to college is a big topic of controversy in the sports industry.
Some say getting hired at any job can be difficult, especially if it considers taking a few risks to work during long hours. Like Russel Honore and Bill Laitner talks about how they risked to not work for anything they were interested in, but who can complain when somebody earns money to take care of oneself? Some people believe that having a job is a privilege, and that anyone should be thankful for having that job even if some of those employees do not like it. Although having a job can be time-consuming and stressful, it is a responsibility to provide for oneself with anything that comes from work. Appreciate a job that can get someone paid for something that they have to do.
Education is a key factor in succeeding in life. Without obtaining a high school diploma, a GED or college degree, an individual will likely experience great difficulties in finding and obtaining a job. Those who dropout will only know the basics of a job and will have a difficult time functioning and earning a reasonable income. Students choose to leave high school for a lot of reasons, but the decisions they make has serious long-term consequences. Those without high school diplomas face limited job opportunities and a lowered earning potential.
Along with that, many teens have an occupation driving. Many teenagers receive careers delivering pizzas or chauffeuring the elderly. Teens are contributing to society by
Becoming a parent is a task that cannot be taken lightly. It is a task filled with frustration, responsibilities and dedication, but is also filled with joy and satisfaction. From children learning how to behave to them going out with friends, rules, standards and expectations are set mostly by their parents. Parents make most of their children’s decision in the first couple of years from behalf from what they eat for breakfast from setting their curfew as they get older. As children began grow, they began to make their own choices and learn to deal with the consequence of their mistakes.
Why kids should be allowed to work before 16. Do you think 16 is to young to work? Do you believe that all jobs that a child works under the age of 16 are considered child labor? I do not. Today I am going to convince you to see my side of things and understand why I believe the way I do.
For many years, a question has been ask trillions of times throughout the homes of families. What are you going to do after High School? Everyday you hear many different answers and bunch of different lectures of what you should and what shouldn’t you do. Having many honorable mentions such as Steve Jobs, Dave Thomas, or Kevin Rose shows that college after high school is not the only option. Four-Year Universities are not practical choice for most Americans students after High School because of the lack of preparation for a college education,Student are pressured that having a college degree is the only way to maintaining a stable financial life , and A college degree doesn 't pay off for years .
Many parents believe that teenagers attend school and just go there to sit and take notes, when in reality there is so much more to education than taking notes. Most students are often busy throughout the entire day. Teenagers never really get a break from life. It is clear to understand that stress is a horrible yet common thing teenagers deal with now a days. Having so much to deal with at such a young age truly is hard.
Work, school, or both? Who wouldn’t love to stay young forever and not have to worry about life responsibilities? It is all fun and games until you graduate from high school and realize that education is not free anymore. The majority of college students today have a hard time deciding whether working while in college is a good idea or not.
Some teenagers are having sex. Some teenagers start working during this time. Some teenagers later in adolescences start college application and prepare for graduations. I believe that the adolescence stage covers so much and is a huge transition. I decided to talk about several important changes
