Katniss notices that Peeta is put in a different group from her. At this moment, Katniss decides that she will try to eliminate the others in Peeta’s group, instead of just simply killing them all. She does this by sneaking around them, avoiding their traps, and cleverly killing them one by one. This causes Peeta to be by himself, which leads to them joining forces later on. Katniss not killing Peete just because he is with her enemies relates to Destino by showing how love helped the woman overcome a hard task. In Destino, the woman sees her love in the ruins and reaches to him; however, when her foot touches the ground, it causes the sand to collapse which makes it much harder for her to reach him. This symbolizes how often when one is chasing love, obstacles can get in the way.Looking at how Katniss did not kill her love when she could have very easily killed him and his allies at the time, and how the woman in Destino overcame the challenges that she faced to get to her love, audiences can see how love can help us overcome challenges that we may be faced

The capitol is not happy with them threatening to do this, and during the interview, the only excuse Katniss could use was her “love” for Peeta: “‘Your only defense can be you were so madly in love you weren’t responsible for your actions’” (Collins 845).
