I took a glance over at my friends, Jack Lantern and Percy Skyfall, as they swung their legs on the tree branch in the Shadow Hill, Greenwich plaza. Percy is more interested in facts than wrestling or football unlike Jack. Percy had dark brown hair, and a black backpack with a computer in it. As much as he likes his studies, he loves a good game of basketball. He loves to help people and loves to solve a good mystery. Jack is the strong one. He loves to play football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, weight lifting, track, wrestling, and an occasional game of lacrosse. He loves sports, and is very strong. He is on every team in school and loved by all. Even though he is popular, he loves to help people and solve problems. He is smart …show more content…
This isn’t your fault, Raven. It’s those idiots who took him. They obviously don’t know who they’re messing with. We can get Percy back-” “How? We are 14! They already knocked us out, and once they did, we were out like a light. We don’t have a chance, plus who knows where Percy is right now? He could be anywhere. This is all my fault! I let those guys take him, I’m the idiot! What would we do anyways? I mean, if we were to find where Percy is, what next? Would we attack and have the chance of losing our lives? They spared by only knocking us out.” I hesitated, “Now that I think about it why did they only want Percy?” I asked intrigued. Jack nodded agreeingly then added, “ Yeah I don’t get why we were left, but he was taken. They must want him for something. Once we find Percy, we call the cops or get him ourselves. What do they want him for could be helpful information so we can find the best place for it.” I took out my phone, “ first we should try Find my iPhone. We can’t call or text him because we would give our position away, showing them we could be a threat. We need to stay under the radar, if we pose as a threat to them, they’ll come after us. I found his phone, which is… in a light tower on the

Percy is also brave, smart, and courageous, but he is also strong and caring. Percy’s main objective in the story is to get out of the underworld and stop a Roman vs Greek battle. Some devices used by the author in this story are alliterations, similes, and personifications. Some similarities in these two books are that both main characters need to solve a problem, both need help from
At a training ground for the children of deities, Percy learns to harness his divine powers and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime: he must prevent a feud among the Olympians from erupting into a devastating war on Earth, and rescue his mother from the clutches of Hades, god of the
Such as braveness, intelligence, and humility. When Percy, Annabeth and Grover Were at the arch, they split up and Percy was in the most danger because on the way in the elevator, he was stopped by these two people, a fat old lady and her dog who later transform to Echidna and her son Chimera. The only way Percy could save himself was by jumping out of the hole into the Mississippi. At first he was scared that his father would not save him, but as brave as he was, “I turned and jumped.
Rick Riordan 's novel, The Lightning Thief, can be effectively interpreted through Joseph Campbell 's Hero Cycle analytical tool. In utilizing this tool, the theme of Percy 's evolving leadership capabilities is brought to attention. In the preliminary events of the novel, Percy is clearly uncomfortable and uncertain of his newfound leadership position. But, as he and his friends, Annabeth and Grover, endure the trials that they encounter, Percy becomes increasingly a more effective and all around better leader. By applying the Hero Cycle, we can understand The Lightning Thief as a description of the evident evolution of Percy 's, leadership through the tests and challenges he endures.
In the novel Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson faces off with a previous enemy, Luke, with friends Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson. They are looking for a man named Daedalus, who owns a workshop in the labyrinth. However, the Titan Army is also hoping to find him to use his talents for evil. The theme of the Battle of the Labyrinth is that you should never let your guard down in dangerous situations. First of all, Percy had suspected Quintus, a new camp counselor, from the very beginning.
”(142). This quote was from Lightning Thief. “Usually there is a discovery, some event, or some danger that starts them on a heroic path” This quote comes from Hero’s Journey, stage: “Call for Adventure”. I think these two quotes align together because Percy needs to retrieve what was stolen.
“Hold up, Hold up, i’m coming, i’m coming!” screamed Jack. Jack was a 13 yr old boy that was very bright and smart. He was very popular at his school Cleveland Middle School. He is in 8th grade and he has been going to the same school since kindergarten.
Finally, the entering the unknown happens. I know this because when he goes to camp half-blood there is the constant threat of danger. Also his strength and courage is tested time and time again. In conclusion, percy’s experiences align with the Hero’s
Initially, when Percy played capture the flag in his camp, his persevere characteristic kept him alive. Annabeth was very close to killing him, but he never gave up, and fought for his team. Subsequently, Percy's mom was abducted by the Minotaur. He wouldn't let his loving and caring mom just go away like that. He snatched the Minotaur horn off of it, and stabbed it with it.
This was an honor for Percy which brought a great honor into Percy’s life. But, it also brought more danger into into Percy’s life like being attacked by many monsters including people like the kindly
Percy begins to doubt that he is capable of being a hero during the fight between him, Echidna, and Chimera because he feels as if Riptide, his sword, will cause minimal damage, and in this situation he’s not only trying to protect himself. First of all, before going into the elevator his suspicions lowered once Grover reassured him that there were probably no monsters since the smell is similar to that of underground. Once Percy got into the elevator, leaving Annabeth and Grover behind, he didn’t exactly expect the “chihuahua” to be Chimera, or the fat lady to be Echidna. He was baffled and caught in surprise unlike most of the other times where he was with his friends and they could protect each other. No, in this situation it was all on him.
Again, Percy’s ability to communicate and coordinate a team are tested, but unlike the encounter with the furies, he is successful this time. Percy’s growth is especially clear when he acknowledges Annabeth’s successful calculations, saying “If we’d have jumped when I thought we should’ve, we would’ve crashed”, admitting that Annabeth saved their lives (240). Percy communicates well, delegating responsibilities— “‘Get into that booth! Find the ‘on’ switch’” he yells to Grover, “‘Unfasten your seatbelt’” he yells to Annabeth—to guide the group. The test of the waterpark displays Percy’s confident leadership abilities as he coordinates
Percy was most likely going to lose to the monster and Percy knew this. The author showed this by making Percy look upset by using dark colors, as well as the author made the monster bigger the Percy to show that the monster is a large fear for Percy.
