By reading in depth within some words written on a page, you can discover more meaning behind them than expected. You'll find that the elements in any story such as: conflict, theme, character, and setting can closely relate with other realistic stories like itself. Though the plots can be drastically different, the words expressed are capable of generally carrying similar meaning. This statement definitely applies to two extremely different stories with closely related elements that make up each. Both stories provide numerous and various themes throughout their different plots, therefore it makes sense that the themes between the stories contrast. "The best sport in the world," agreed Rainsford."For the hunter," amended Whitney. "Not for the jaguar" (Connell 3). As Rainsford and his partner Whitney are looking forward to hunting while sailing to Rio, they have a discussion about the emotions that come into play in the game of hunting; the emotions are dealt between the huntees and the hunter. Whitney applies one of the main themes of the story during this conversation; he argues that there should be empathy for all living creatures because animals have emotions too, just as the hunters do. Unfortunately, Rainsford believes otherwise- that animals only rely on instinct, not reasoning and emotion. Because Highnoon doesn't exactly involve hunting down animals, this theme doesn't apply to the film the way it does to the book. Highnoon mainly consists of morals dealing with having a responsibility for your society and remaining loyal to those who have helped you, since this film consists of multiple people and a conflict that relates to that theme. Because the conflicts of both stories are applied differently, the themes of each have seemed to be effected by this, which therefore may have caused them to contrast. Though conflict comes in all forms, stories still manage to relate to others in various ways. Characters are the main reason why conflict occurs, and out of conflict comes theme- characters are the most important elements to a story. They vary, but in other stories characters can still relate to one another, just as conflicts do. As stated before, out of every conflict in any story, comes a theme or lesson. Themes are dependent on conflicts, meaning their result depends on the conflict. This can cause many stories' themes to contrast with different stories, only because their conflicts contrasted to others in the first place.
