The U.S. may have adopted many parts of the Roman government and further added to it, but people have yet to notice all of the similarities and the differences between the two. The U.S. and the Roman government have some similarities like they both have a tripartite government but there are some major differences like women being a part of the government and the number of executives ruling. One similarity is that they are tripartite. For example,“The U.S. and the Roman Republic also have a three based government, it is known as a tripartite system.”(IPL). This shows that the U.S. kind of adopted the idea of a tripartite system. They both had an Executive Branch, Judicial Branch, and a Legislative Branch. This proves that even if the U.S. got different parts of their government from the Romans, they still have some differences like how women, in the U.S., are allowed to be in and a part of the government while in Rome, they weren’t allowed to be in the government or even vote. Another difference is the number of executives ruling and how long they rule. Furthermore, “In Rome the people that run Rome are called consuls and there are 2. Also they only serve for 1 year but in the US there is 1 president and he serves 1 or 2 4 year terms.”(Prezi). This shows they don’t just serve for different periods of time there are different amounts of executives who lead. The U.S. have longer terms you get to serve and only one executive while the Romans had two executives and they only ruled for 1 year.
