In the book The Outsiders written by S.E Hinton has been and still is a favorite among its readers, the book focuses on group identity and individuality. I connected with the book because it shows how close friends can be, they can be almost family. Over time the character Johnny has developed, he became more brave and was willing to kill someone to save his friends and himself, he is intuitive, selfless and optimistic. Johnny thinks that there is still good in the world no matter what happens. Johnny often feels afraid, he doesn’t want to go home because of what his parents do to him.
Ponyboy, the protagonist in the novel The Outsiders, changes and realizes something very important. As he is on his journey with his friends helping him on the way, he learns that his friends are like his family and are always there. He starts to notice it near the end of the novel when Dally and Johnny (his closest friends) both get killed. The theme for this book is better said as, a valuable friend can be more loyal than a brother. At the beginning of the novel Ponyboy's parents were killed in a car accident.
One day Doodle smiles at Narrator and that was the small act that made Narrator believe that Doodle was actually all there. Narrator is innocent of Doodles death, he was just trying to be a loving big brother and was trying to give Doodle all the experiences a kid should have. So far in the story, Narrator sees Doodle and notices that he is unique to the whole family. Narrator can tell that his parents think Doodle is going to die because they give him a big important name (William Armstrong). Narrator starts believing that his brother Doodle will die because that name only sounds good in a tombstone.
Tim Cratchit is a young boy with many illnesses, therefore inspiring hope. He is a sweet boy with lots of spirit. Tim was pitied by many of the characters, including Scrooge, but also was the subject of his parents’ pride. Tiny Tim was a brave, loving character in A Christmas
In conclusion dedication is hard to come by in life. Dedication can not only change your life but it can change other peoples. Sir Lancelot had a lot of dedication to King Arthur he just did not want to hurt his wife. Sir Gawain had dedication to his town most people don’t know what dedication is because they have never had dedication but Sir Lancelot and Sir Gawain had it with King
This quote shows the strong connection he shared with the bird. Doodle was overwhelmed with compassion and decided the beautiful scarlet ibis needed a proper burial. Throughout the story Doodle and his brother share a close bond that grows with time. Brother eventually decides to show Doodle Old Woman Swamp. Doodle is touched by his brothers action: “His eyes were round with wonder as he gazed about him, and his little hands began to stroke the rubber grass… It's so pretty,” he said, “So pretty, pretty, pretty” (335).
A wise man named Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” In other words, the color of a person’s skin should not be judged on how we treat each other. The color of a person’s skin should not be a bother in public. However, there has been many histories where the blacks were treated unnormal because of their skin color. Brent Staples strongly proved something mystical about the world on how many people react to black people in public spaces. He proved it by using ethos, pathos, and logos on his essay he wrote called, “Black Men and Public Space.” Staples who is six feet two inches with a beard approached that several people, especially women, sees him as a mugger, a rapist, or worse.
In the novel Black Boy, Wright is living a life filled with constant neglect and segregation; however, even as a child, he was able to accept others without hurting them. When Mrs. Moss was obviously trying to force the idea of marriage with her daughter to Wright, he just simply replied that he didn’t want to get involved in her life and that he didn’t want to hurt her (Wright 213). This is just an example of one person who has accepted the idea of tolerance. During this exact time, Wright was being misjudged and mistreated by the people who believed that they were better than him. The flag case in “American Flag Stands For Tolerance” resulted in the freedom of Gregory Lee Johnson because the ultimate irony would have been to punish views expressed by burning the flag that stands for the right to those expressions (Allen 20).
Anse is introduce to the book at the very beginning was that he was a working man and loves his family. Anse is very important in the develop of the story because he play the role of addie husband. Being the husband of addie explains many thing on why addie want to be buried in jefferson not close to her husband anse. As I get deeper into the book there are many actions that tell me that anse is a lazy guy but at the beginning is his neighbors who say that he is lazy men who don't like to do anything. The when he is getting addie to jefferson the wagon almost get destroy in the river and cash and jewel are the one who rescue it not anse he just stand there looking at then almost dying.
Johnny’s a tragic hero because he strives to be a good person and to help others in need; Johnny enlisted in the Vietnam war to “better” his life. In the play people considered johnny as a good person because he helps his father out with the field. Johnny was only 8 years old when he started working like a man; therefore his father feels very proud of him for helping the family. For example, in scene three shows us how he helped out “pass, I already pick 20 trays, paapa”! (Valdez, page 631) That
