Introducing Malaysia government commercial airline industry, Malaysia Airline System (MAS) which operate it for first time in year 1937 when it start operated service between Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Penang with 2 Australian brothers, Theodore and Charles Wearnes under Wearne’s Airline Service (WAS). The airline only provide a service for schedule air passenger and mail service. Only Havilland DH.89A Dragon Rapide aircraft that use by this company on that time and it schedule flight around Malaya only 2 and 3 times per week. Unfortunately, the service was totally terminated during the World War 2 with Japanese occupation of Malaya and Singapore.

It name changed again in 1966 after separation of Singapore from Federation of Malaysia from Malaysia Airways to Malaysia Singapore Airline. However, it only for 6 years after Singapore make its own decision to develop to international routers airline but Malaysia wanted to stick with its decision to focus only for domestic link before going to international stage. Different future decision make between Singapore and Malaysia spilt into two airline where it named Malaysia Airline and Singapore Airline in 1972. From that year, a journey of Malaysia Singapore Airline (MSA) totally ceased. October 1972, Malaysia Airline System was established and the short form of “MAS” was used in means gold to our country. The logo is originally extract from Kelantan traditional kite or ‘Wau”. On the same month, Malaysia Airline System began flying for first time from Kuala Lumpur to London which means first international router for Malaysia Airline since it establish.
