Topic: Sjögren's syndrome
Introduction:
Sjögren's syndrome, which was discovered by an ophthalmologist Henrik Samuel Conrad Sjögren,is an autoimmune disorder. It is also a persistent disease that will have long term effects on the patients and it cannot be cured in a short period of time but fortunately it is non-transmissible.The major group of people having this disease is the 40-60 age and 90% of them are women because of their relatively weak immune system.Because of the weak immune system, the misclassification of good cells by white blood cells makes the white blood cells become the autoantibody, which are called Anti-SSA autoantibodies to attack other good cells. There are two types of Sjögren's syndrome, primary and secondary.Primary Sjögren's syndrome occurs when the salivary and lacrimal

There are at least 3 seed viruses such as EB viruses, jumbo Bye-law brother viruses, HIV virus have the association with the Sjögren's syndrome, resulting in the production of immunoglobulins to attack the patients’ body.
Symptoms:
The two main symptoms of Sjogren's syndrome are the dry eyes and dry months. There are also other symptoms depends on each patient.
Dry eyes mean that the patients’ eyes will heat, itch and the tears are not enough. In this way, patients are afraid of sunlight, which will further heat their eyes. They also feel like there are sands in their eyes and it is uncomfortable.
Dry mouth mean that the patients’ mouth feel like that it is full of stuffs, making them difficult to swallow or speak. They need to drink water frequently in order to speak,to swallow solid foods and the teeth also turn black and fall off eventually.
Other symptoms include the respiratory problem,as the trachea is very dry, patients may get bronchitis and the lung inflammation,as well as chronic cough. In addition,as their immune system is weak,it is not easy to recover from
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks its self. Lupus can affect different parts of the body including the skin, blood, kidneys, and joints. There are four different types of Lupus, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Cutaneous Lupus, Drug-Induced Lupus, and Neonatal Lupus. However, the most common and deadly lupus is Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
NO THANKSUSE THE APP Lupus Essay-Human Anatomy Le Linh Le Professor D. Henry Human Anatomy November 16, 2015 Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, better known as “Lupus,” is a chronic autoimmune disorder where the body’s immune system becomes uncontrollable. Patients with Lupus would have their immune system attack their healthy tissues instead of attacking bacteria and viruses like it would in a healthy functioning body. This can cause damages to various parts of the body such as the skin, kidneys, joints, blood, and brain.
Of course, the condition will most likely involve a heart problem, which is discovered at birth, along with a webbed neck, chest deformities, many birth marks, also known as café-au-lait spots, and a short stature. The features of this syndrome are not fully known, considering the fact that there are numerous characteristics and no two infected individuals have the same exact features. Like in most other disease cases, there are lists of more minor symptoms that can occur in an individual. In infants and newborns, feeding problems are present, due to a poor sucking reflex. Behavioral problems and developmental delays can occur, which causes the individual to achieve milestones slower, such as sitting and walking.
Symptoms of HSE include: fever and headaches that can last up to a week, changes in behavior, seizures and hallucinations. Genital herpes (type 2 herpes), is caused by sexual interaction. Many people do not know they have the virus because there may be no symptoms or sores. For newborns, symptoms include: lethargy, seizures, irritability and poor feeding. Both meningitis and encephalitis are contagious and can be spread through contact of saliva, mucus and feces.
Signs and Symptoms SJS is characterized by round, red papules that resemble insect bites. Within a short amount of time, these lesions change into varying sizes and patterns. They may become red with white centers that have papules on the center. This gives them a target-like appearance. Although they can be seen on any body surface area, they are usually seen on the face and trunk.
Although shingles is related to chicken pox, the two ailments are quite different. Shingles attacks only half of the body, but the rash that forms is severely debilitating. The pain is likened to searing hot needles being poked into the skin, non-stop, for weeks on end. Once the virus runs its course, typically two to four weeks, the
Symptoms include tingling or itching in the affected area. These vesicles and sores have a fluid that should not be touched since it is highly contagious. In children orolabial herpes is often the first herpes simplex infection. This is a combination of gingivitis (infection in the gums) and stamatits or inflammation in the
(Crowe & Peura, 2011) Does the patient smoke, how long have they been smoking, how much do they smoke/pack/day? Smoking decreases the LES muscle function, increases acid excretion, weakens muscle reflexes in the throat, damages mucus membranes, and reduces salivation, which helps neutralize acid. (UMMC, 2015) Does the patient drink alcohol regularly? Alcohol relaxes the LES muscles and irritates the
Nutrition is really important for those patients. Because these patients produce lots of mucus in the intestine, the mucus interfere with the appropriate absorption of vitamin, fats, and nutrients
Karen is a 17 year old athlete who has been suffering from chronic fatigue, and sore throat. I believe based on Karen’s fatigue and sore throat that she has mononucleosis. Karen has been in high contact situations due to participating in games and going out with her boyfriend; due to this hectic lifestyle her immune system may have been more susceptible to viruses. Upon going to the hospital Karen’s doctor confirmed my suspicions as the physician found that she tonsillitis, swollen lymph nodes, enlarged spleen.
Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). When you have lupus, the body attacks the healthy tissues that’s supposed to fights off viruses, bacteria, and germs. Normally our immune system produces proteins called antibodies that protects the body from these invaders. Autoimmune means your immune system cannot tell the difference between these foreign invaders and your body’s healthy tissues and creates autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissue. These autoantibodies cause inflammation, pain, and damage in various parts of the body.
1. Varicella-Zoster virus (VZV): Varicella and Zoster virus (VZV) belongs to the Alphaherpesvirinae subfamily and is the responsible for two human illnesses: varicella and zoster. Three Alphaherpesviruses are capable of infecting humans: herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1), herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV). The members of this subfamily are commonly characterised by their ability to establish a latent infection in neurons. Primary infection occurs in epithelial cells leading to a skin rash and fever as a phenotype.
The patient may suffer from many symptoms such as: shortness
Syphilis is a kind of sexually transmitted infections caused by the bacterium called Spiroset Treponema Pallidum. It is primarily spread by sexual contact including oral and anal sex. Even, this disease also can be transmitted by bodily contact like long kissing. In a number of cases, syphilis is spread by homosexual couple.
This interferes with your normal daily activities. To help your body fight the virus, it is advisable to take a rest as it helps your immune system to gain more strength. Another common symptom of the flu is body ache and chills. The body aches happens in any part of the body like the head, legs , back e.t.c Most of the times the chills come before you even get a fever. Wrapping yourself will help you reduce chills by increasing the temperature of your body.
