This past weekend, my family and I drove up to Harbor Springs, Michigan for a ski trip at Boyne Highlands. Some of the families that went with us were the Browns, Morrs, Hesses, Eckhardts, Riggs, Seamans, and many others. We headed up to Boyne Highlands on March 1st, which was last Thursday. We left right after the school dance was over. The car ride to Boyne was close to six hours long. In the car, I spent most of my time reading, listening to music, playing cards with my siblings, and sleeping. My family and I, including Meggie Voigt, arrived in Boyne around 10:00 p.m. After checking into our condo and unpacking, we hung out with some of the families from Bryan that had rooms near ours.
The next morning, my phone alarm woke me up at 7:55 a.m. It was time to get my snowboard clothes

I was very sore due to all of the wipeouts and falls that occurred the day before. Once I was changed into my snowboard outfit, I headed down to breakfast with my friends once again. The breakfast was delicious and my favorite breakfast food from there was definitely the waffles! After eating, it was time to hit the slopes again. I spend a lot of my day at Funland. Funland is a terrain park that has rails, boxes and jumps. The jump at the bottom of Funland is the biggest. It didn’t take long for Carter to land the jump, so, I was motivated to try it too. After several attempts and some bruises, I finally did it. Kellen Rigg got a good video of me landing the jump. Subsequently, I spent the rest of the day going down black diamonds, having fun conversations on the ski lifts, and enjoying the amazing hot chocolate at the lodge. Once my friends and I were done skiing for the day, we went to our condos. Later, we all went into the hot tub and had a blast. Afterwards, we all met up around 11:00 p.m. My friends and I played cards for the rest of the night and had a very fun time. The second day on the slopes was by far my
The snow kept getting in my face and it made me cold, but I still was having a blast!
Topic 2- Valley Fair Calling all daredevils! Valley Fair is an exhilarating yet fun amusement park which is loaded with nerve racking rides and even a ginormous waterpark! Some awesome rides you can go on is the Corkscrew, the Excalibur, and the High Roller. Maybe after the rides you just want to chill. In the waterpark there is a lazy river in which all you do is lay on a tube and go in circles.
I got out of bed and grabbed some breakfast pancakes, bacon, and some orange juice. It was delicious. After breakfast, my uncle, grandpa, brother and I loaded up the boat and got on the road. We were headed for Mille Lacs Lake. After about an hour of driving, we pulled into the boat launch and backed the boat in, then my grandpa got bait from the bait store by the launch.
Saturday morning I had to get up at about 4:45 or so to take a shower, get dressed, gather my saddle and things, and still wash and load my horse. It was a very hectic morning, we got at leon around 9:00 so that Teagan and I could warm up our horses and get a feel of them. I rode the whole hour the see if my horse was going to be naughty, and he
3. In My Antonia, Cather uses symbols from nature to express the essential aspects of the lives of the characters. Some symbols are of the land: the prairie, the grass, winter, etc. Other symbols are animals: badgers, wolves, rattlesnakes, larks, etc. Choose three symbols and discuss how they convey information about the daily lives of the characters, how the characters relate to each other and/or how Cather views life.
After we had all ate breakfast, it was time to leave. I was so excited to fulfil my inner wanderlust over the next two weeks, that I had barely slept the last few nights. I wanted to be well-rested, so that I would be able to take in every second of the trip. I decided to take a nap in the car and told my parents to wake me up when we were thirty minutes out from the airport.
The first time I went to Mackinac Island was a truly unforgettable experience. Lots of people have always told me “We can’t go, we can’t fit the wheelchair on the boat.” But during last summer in August we decided to go Mackinaw City instead. I was super excited for it, I don’t why I had been to the city parts a thousand times over. That and I was sick as a dog with an unexplainable cold but that didn’t stop mom from saying “okay we’re going.”
Visiting to a state that I have always wanted to go is to visit Colorado with my family; therefore, it was fun while going to that place. This happened last years’ summer. There are a few things that we did in that state. So before we went to Colorado, we had to drive from one state to another. Like we first drove from Illinois, our state, to Iowa.
It was a cool day in the Poconos Mountains, we had made a reservation to go white water rafting. The next morning we had to wake up extra early to eat breakfast so we weren’t late for our trip. When my parents said, “were going white water rafting” I thought we were going straight down to the river , but of course it wasn’t. When we got there we each had to fill out papers clearly stating our medical information but, of course my parents had to sign too. Once everything had been signed we had to wait about thirty minutes for everyone else to get there.
By the time I woke up my uncle Joe said we are going to be there in 20 minutes. I was so happy when he said that! The traffic was horrible Joseph 2 since we were in Philly. For the next 20 minutes I just played games and talked to my cousins. Once I heard the car parked and roller coasters going, I knew that we were at Hershey Park.
Breakfast that morning we had IHOP. They were really busy but we got a table quickly. Finally we got to Duval street. There were many places to
When we got there we took a look around the cabin and I almost hit my head on a ceiling fan. We headed outside, but before we went on the speedboat we went on the pontoon to see how small and secluded Lake May was. After we got back my little sister Piper and I went to change into our bathing suits. We headed to the middle of the lake on the speed boat with all the items and people we needed; the driver (Russ), the spotter (our father), the tubers (Piper and I), and the tubing equipment. We got far enough out Piper and I had our life jackets on we climbed onto the tube and we were off after we knew the signals.
My favorite thing was going on ALL of the rides. Finally we made it back to the condo and went to bed to get ready for tomorrow's next
We woke up full of energy and ate breakfast. My mom had a few more things to pack up. We had to wait for her in the car. As soon as my mom came my dad turned the car on and we started the trip. The roads were very slippery
Cliff Jumping at Smith Lake If you think jumping off a diving board is fun, you should try cliff jumping. At the end of the summer (2015) my family and I went to Smith Lake, Alabama. We had heard about this beautiful lake from some friends of ours who had went recently and loved it.
