The reason that I want to attend Machik Weekend is because when I grow older, I aspire to work for the Tibetans inside Tibet, and to give back to the community that has helped me developed my own identity as a Tibetan. Although I am far away from my country, distance shouldn’t be a barrier because there is so much that can be done. Machik’s cause immediately struck an inner chord in my heart and reminded me of the detailed stories that my late Grandpa and Grandma had told me from their experiences in Tibet. I wish to be apart of this amazing organization that helps so many people in my homeland.

One of the children, Rocio, suffers from anemia, however, when Feed My Starving Children stepped in, her life changed. Now, she helps her mother fetch water and is happy because she can carry the jugs on her own. This is just one case of how Feed My Starving Children has influenced and changed lives.
