We all are aware of how important it is to sleep well at night but when it comes to behavioral theorists, it isn't how long we sleep for, but our actual sleep positions that are riveting. In fact the position that you try to get while sleeping counts. Even though so many people try to underestimate their sleeping position. It is still to be very important.We can see that these positions are three: side, back and stomach. The darkness of night unveils the hidden cove of possibilities that awaits us in sleep. For some, sleep provides the much needed distraction and replenishment needed to perform our daily routines. As we curl up under the security of our favorite blanket, snuggle against the fluffiness that is our pillow, and as we slowly begin to shut our eyes, we succumb to the beauty that is sleep. The film starts with the statistic that “40% of American adults are sleep deprived” and followed with different effects of sleep deprivation such as: weight gain, delayed reaction time, depression, anxiety, speeds the growth of cancer, and has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Although, there is no scientific evidence to support the need for sleep, it is an important process that allows our bodies to function properly. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) has been an ongoing issue for childbearing families and health care providers for decades. In developed countries, SIDS is the most common cause of death in children between one and twelve months of age (Strehle et al., 2012).
