He did not want people to expect a lot from his brother, because he said “ Nobody expects much for someone named Doodle.” He is implying that he helped his brother by choosing a more suitable name for him. Brotherhood is shown differently in The Sniper. In The Sniper, the sniper shoots a man that is on the enemy’s side. “What the sniper did not know is that the enemy was his brother. “Then the sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother’s face,” said the text from The Sniper.
The older brother did all this for himself because he was ashamed of his brother. The story "The Sniper" was about the civil war and how families were split between the sides. There are two snipers battling on opposite sides of the street. One shoots the other in the shoulder then he kills the shooter. When he is going back to camp he looks to see who it is and was his brother.

The narrator had a dark side, he hated taking his brother everywhere he went. He was embarrassed, so he decided to teach his brother without caring the pain his brother was going through. The narrator only did for himself because he didn’t want his brother by his side because the thought his brother was an embarrassment. Evidence in the short story when Doodle could finally walk Doodle’s brother decided to show his parents he could walk and he starts to notice
Even trough thus far the brother has been selfish about his beliefs he is not all bad. Both the brother and Doodle go down to the swamp and play around. To me even trough the brother is gaining from it, i believe that Doodle is gaining even more. The brothers plan to teach Doodle how to climb, swim, fight, and run before the start of school is bittersweet. Having Doodle learn how to do all of those things would be great for Doodle since I doubt that Doodle likes being crippled.

In No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre we see Garcin psychologically entrapped. Garcin has trapped himself psychologically in trying to be known as a hero and not a coward.
