We have freedom of speech because of the first amendment. America is a land of opportunity where the government takes care of it’s people and gives children and teenagers free education . America has made it to where not only men have rights but men and women both have the same rights . America let’s anyone be who they want unlike in china if there people don’t agree
However, the people, who were excluded, were eventually able to get the voting rights irrespective of sex or ethnicity, and this result could be the beginning for anyone else. South Korea was one of them. South Korea took the United States as its role model and began as a stepping stone to democracy with the rights to vote that should be given out in all genders. It became so fundamental and natural to South Korea. On May 10, 1948, South Korea elected officials in the first democratic way in the election of a constitutional assembly.
The Athenian and the Spartan civilizations were very unique and different but the people shared many similar ideas. The Athenians believed that their government was original and that everyone should participate directly in government. On the other hand, the Spartans believed that every man should train for the military. Both the Spartans and Athenians believed in an equal society where the members were devoted to the polis. During this time, Athens supported a democracy.
Diana represents the extremes of equality through her unjust system of government, and Harrison represents the extremes of inequality, individualism, and freedom through a caste system where only the wealthy people will be able to express their selves and have freedom. Both Harrison and Diana’s ideas of equality has corrupt consequences in which Diana’s takes away individuality and Harrison’s takes away equality and freedom. In this story, Vonnegut illustrates that the only society that should exist is one that accepts individuality and lets its citizen be equal without any physical
The reconstruction to the constitution created a new way of things. A big thing was equality to everybody no matter what you were or supported. Reconstruction was in a way to some people was the golden opportunity to purge the nation of slavery and create “ perfect republic”. People like Thaddeus Stevens thought citizens should enjoy equal and political rights. Creating the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments empowered a new different state.
Another idea that made Pennsylvania into a frontier religiously/politically was that Penn also incorporated his ideas of religious toleration and “natural right” into the founding of his colony. Pennsylvania offered religious tolerance of all religions and all individuals were given rights. During his time in Pennsylvania, Penn wrote the Charter of Liberties which told the world that Pennsylvania was “free to the people under it, where laws rule, and the people are a party to those laws.” Penn gave personal rights to everyone including Natives and Negros. All other colonies offered one or the other: tolerance or equal rights.
America is said to be the land of the free, and for the most part this is true, but it will truly become a free country for everyone when the truth is out in the open for the people to see and most importantly for them to be educated. The only path for a balanced civilization is to maintain high standards of values and knowing the simple fact that an educated world brings with it educated ideas and mindsets. Remember that
Everyone has the same right as each other and no one is above anyone else. John Locke’s theory opened many people’s eyes and it changed society and built in into what people see these days. Equality plays a major role in Religion
From a non-subjective viewpoint, a democracy is allowing the people to have power and some control over the country. A Republic — which the Roman Republic was — on the other hand, is similar to what a democracy is except it protects the minority rights from the majorities. So, from the viewpoint of Roman Republic, a democracy is allowing the people in the Assemblies to grant office to those that deserve it, having the final say in passing or repealing laws, and making the final decision on peace or war. The Roman Republic did give evidence that they are a democracy such as allowing people the ability to vote and letting the people choose, however, there's also evidence on the Roman Republic not being democratic. Either side of the argument the claim is the Roman Republic was democratic.
The American Dream was created for all to be equal with the right of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. A dream is a series of thoughts on possibilities one can attain, hence, only one can choose to believe in the American Dream and if it’s achievable. In particular, Steve Tobak’s article called The American Dream is Alive and Well focuses on the opportunity Americans have unlike others and that the dream is attainable by all who work for it. A book by John Winthrop called City Upon a Hill implies that all men are capable of anything if they put God first. The American dream should make life fuller for all, provide happiness, and lead every American to believe they can do anything.
Although, with Christ and his Word in our schools, homes, and workplaces we could possibly be a spiritually stronger nation. We have our rights as to whether it is in or out, but by removing the Bible from our lives we are only hurting ourselves. Not everyone has the same thoughts or religion, so not everyone will agree which is why we have courts, judges, and majority
And that’s the way it should be. The constitution favor many people instead of few people. It seems fair and gives equality to all regardless of social class. I have document B more unfair, more unequal, and There is not a lot of justice. For example in document B it states
And now, arguably the most important one, Liberty. Liberty means that everybody in the nation gets basic rights. The entire country got freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press, and a few more. At the time the Constitution was created, most people could vote, but now everybody above the age of 18 can. The entire country was created for this reason - to get freedom from Britain.
Hobby Lobby feels like this law is violating their religious rights. This is important regarding corporate rights because Hobby lobby does not have to pay severe fines. This was a victory for small family owned business because they all were granted their religious rights and freedom to express their rights in their
The Great Compromise showed a commitment by the framers to ensuring that no person’s vote be less important because of where they live. The Supreme Court used this and other cases to determine that “the right of suffrage is a fundamental matter in a free and democratic society,” (Reynolds v. Sims). Today, it’s easy to assume that we have more equality in our voting system than ever. That conclusion is difficult to reach unfortunately when examining two things: campaign financing and state wealth and political position.
