Being homeless is increasing everyday Did you know in the last year more and more people are becoming homeless every day? There are 18,000 homeless people in Memphis on any given day (according to Pat Morgan). Homeless is when a person without a home, and therefore typically living on the streets. Some are disabled and unable to work.
Homelessness is typically a person that is unable to have a secure lifestyle but the word homeless tends to have a different reaction from society when the homeless person background history indicates that they once wore a uniformed that defended the freedom of the United States. The status of being homeless can be acquire through different life situations drugs, alcohol or even a natural disaster. Being sympathetic to the dominance of and possibility for homelessness amongst veterans in the United States is essential in order avoid and culminate homelessness among the individuals that have honorably served their country. Considering physiognomies connected with homeless veterans may perhaps offer the awareness needed to eradicate the obstacles
Then there is the economy itself that contributes to the homelessness population. With increasing costs on goods and services, the limited amount of jobs available in the United States, and the increase of natural disasters among the world, people are finding it harder and harder to get by, and are often living paycheck to paycheck
“1 out of every 100 persons in Europe- or approximately 3 million people [are] homeless,” (Blair 21) states Cornelia Blair, the author of Homeless in America. Not only is this number extremely high, it only accounts to one country; Imagine the number across all 136 countries scattered across the Earth. And the homeless population is constantly on the rise, creating a fear for many who live dangerously close to losing everything. Homelessness is a predicament that affects all people, old and young, and can last from as little as a few days to as long as the rest of their lives. It is a serious problem caused by low income, domestic violence and abuse, and lack of Veteran care, but can be amended by child sponsorships, help from the government,
Homelessness is a huge promblem in America. In the United States homelessness is something many americans dont consider. Million of homeless people including childern, families, babies and elderly live day by day. Housing is a fundmental human need. Home is a place were you feel loved , secured and most happy.
The social issue that I picked is homelessness. Homelessness is a real issue, even if we don’t always see it. Homelessness doesn’t just mean you don’t have a roof over your head, it means you don’t have food, a good education, a healthy lifestyle, or a warm place to sleep every night. Some people don’t think very highly about homeless people, they think that it's their fault that they are where they are in life. Homelessness is going to end up becoming a bigger problem.
We all need help at one point in our life, so why do we deny our help towards homeless .Why don’t we help the people who once fought to protect this country that we are currently living in. They now need our help to survive. Why not pay them back with our help towards them .
Homelessness is not a new problem and for years the government has made efforts towards decreasing the rate of homelessness in America. During the 1980’s, the voices of the homeless were finally heard. In 1987, The McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987 was created.
The paper is about the homeless population in the United States of America it is said to be the richest country. The United States and other Western countries have witnessed the homeless population soar and it's recorded that 3.5 million Americans experience homelessness per year. Out of this group, 17% are single women, and 30% are families with children (National Coalition for the Homeless [NCH], 2008b).
Not everyone has it easy- lots of people struggle to keep a job, pay rent or a mortgage, and buy food and clothes. In 2015, 564,708 people were homeless in the United States. 564,708 veterans, middle age, young adults, and child had to deal with rotting teeth, greasy hair, torn clothes, sunburns, frostbite, freezing rain, cold snow, hail, diseases, hunger, and so many other problems. With food being so expensive, they don’t have many options. That’s why I work at a food shelter.
