As an illegal immigrant I believe I should have a choice whether I want to stay in the country I consider my own, been raised in the US, I don’t even remember my native country. Living with illegal immigrants all my life and seeing how hard they work daily so their families can be living, makes me question my own existence. Whether people think about the fact that if we were just to leave, if they would even care. We mean no harm and the hate has got to stop. All illegal immigrant wish for is to stay in the united states and be welcomed.
I believe that people with disabilities are unique individuals; yet, like everyone else, they have a basic human need and social need that must be met. The history of educational treatment of individuals with individuals with intellectual disabilities has changed according to the prevailing philosophy of society. The views of individuals has shifted from compassion to pity isolation to integration and from an intellectual developmental focus to society are to help them achieve functional living skills necessary to participate to the greatest extent possible as independent members of society. A professional social work degree will allow me to become a specialized advocate so that I can help clients utilize resources that would improve their well-being. A professional social work degree will instruct me to serve the needs of clients by allowing me to understand the needs of clients and preferences.
I want to accomplish many thing through out my life, but the biggest accomplishment I want is to help the people who have lost or don 't have a family to take care of them. Sometimes, kids are left alone because their parents couldn 't take care of them, or they had to go find better jobs to help with their living conditions. In many places they have very bad living conditions, and the people who live there try to leave, but sometimes they can 't take every one they love and that could cause them to loose those people. Homeless people have poor living conditions because they can 't afford some place or they might be kids that can 't find anywhere to stay. Kids and adults are often left alone or kicked out of there homes.
I feel that helping the community and empowering people in general is the overall best way to make a change as seventh graders or other youth. That extra bag of food that you gave to the homeless man or the box of clothes that you donated to the shelter down the road makes a difference. Even just helping someone up if they fell down really empowers our community with positivity. We need work toward a better future now and become a closer community. There are so many reasons for people to be living the lives that they are.
In the community’s eyes, the Duvitches did not have a value in the town and in life. In this effect, it pushed the town on acting the way they had towards the Duvitches. Equally with all the negative attitudes around actions being put on the Duvitches, it made their life hard. As stated before they had moved to Syringa Street, “ they had been on the move, to escape starvation, separation, possible assassination” (2). As life was clearly hard enough for this family, it did not help that their freedom in this township had been removed.
After reading these stories about refugees I have become much more aware of the critical conditions they have to live with. The use of emotive and descriptive language has helped me understand why they risk their lives in hope of being safe. I think its unfair and we don't appreciate what we have enough compared to what they deal with on a daily basis. I think that everyone has the right to be safe and deserves a fair chance at life therefore, I think that the situation they had been living in
I feel that the Master’s in Social Work program would give me the theoretical foundation as well as the intensive training that is necessary to become a successful social worker. I have always known that I wanted to become a Social Worker, advocating for those who needs a voice. I knew that I needed to change my life to achieve the goal that I set myself. I am interested in pursuing my education in obtaining my Master’s in Social Work because I have a strong passion for helping people and I can give back to my community. I have a passion to help others and committed to helping people function the best they can
Another option would be to respond to the teacher and state that it is not my right to share a student’s confidential information with her and that it goes against the NASW Code of Ethics, but it would potential damage my relationship with her. Thus, I could potentially go against rather than support the value of the importance of human relationships by refusing to disclose a client’s confidential information. Conversely, a third option would be to state that multiple families at Dickinson Academy are struggling to access affordable housing and suggest that we work together to develop a centralized fund to support the basic needs of all the homeless families, but the student and his family would not receive the full donation being offered. Involve and inspect the NASW Code of Ethics, local, state, and national laws, and agency policies. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) serves as a guide for the daily professional conduct of social workers, and it is easily referenced when values conflict (i.e.
A refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their home country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. There are many different types of refugees, these include refugees who are escaping war, social discrimination, racial discrimination, religious persecution, those who are seeking aid after a natural disaster, political unrest, and those who fear for their lives and the lives of their family. These people are given refugee status and are placed in designated refugee camps across the country where they are supposed to be cared for and educated, but this is not happening. Many of the countries only provide shelter for the refugees but do not provide the rest of the basic needs. There are many factors that contribute to a person becoming a refugee these include war, famine, racial prejudice, religion, harassment or torture due to political views, nationality, and natural disaster.
According to the NASW (2018), social workers primarily focus on social justice rooted in “issues of poverty, unemployment, discrimination, and other forms…” Social justice is then accomplished by seeking to “promote sensitivity to and knowledge about oppression and cultural and ethnic diversity,” in addition to seeking out the necessary information for services and resources. Furthermore, social justice, according to the NASW pertains to equality in economic, political and social rights and opportunities. A tension point within a social justice framework is the simple fact of ensuring that not only groups, but also individual people are supported in receiving justice. For example, a certain religious group may say they are experiencing social
Immigrant Rights I Ramiro Pineda Jr. am here to speak for all immigrants, about Immigrant Rights, and the equality of all races. I believe The United States of America should accept any immigrants because, they only come to the U.S. For a better life. They should be forced to go through the process of becoming citizens and learn English. If they so happen to not want to be here anymore due to the process they have to do, they can decide to go back. Also U.S. Should be proud to accept these people they come here for a better life, education, and good occupations.
Race, gender, and social class doesn’t matter. We are all humans that have different attributes, but at the end we all have a heart we need to live. I also see issues about health care, homelessness, and how teens are going to adult jails like in the book “Just Mercy” by Bryan Stevenson. Lastly, I would like to close by saying that gloomily I see these issues in my community and it’s sad that I don’t do anything. Health care has become one of the most important issues in the country.
