Social Media Impact On Education

My topic is going to be about Children and the Internet like ages 8-12. There are pros and cons when children are using the internet, like their curiosity to know more about the their world in a good way, or also like it turning it to an illegal activity which they would not want for themselves. The usage of the internet could make them smarter, and they are becoming more sociable. In some peoples opinion they see that children are becoming more smarter, sociable and also could be at risk because of social media, access to the internet,and build in communication through online. The counter-argument that people have towards my topic is “Access to the Internet is changing the way children think and live”.

One place where social media is being increasingly used is in the school. Students, instead of focusing on completing their work, begin to ignore the teachers and instead spend all of their learning time on social media. I personally think that this is something that is going to eventually harm people. With social media being so prominent in school, students are becoming more and more distracted from their schoolwork, and therefore are having a more difficult time passing classes to graduate. The use of social media in school, in my opinion, should be limited.

They thought that social networking sites at schools aren’t use ful to the learning process, however, using social media in the classroom can be very useful, it can encourage and motivate the students to participate especially for students who don’t participate in the class, they can express their thoughts and opinions through social media and when they get admiration from their teacher and friends they will be motivated to share their thoughts and express it face to face and by time the students will be more confident. Next, also opponents think that social media can cause a distraction in the class, but, if there is no social media in schools there won’t be any distraction in schools!! of course not. So, there are many factors causing distraction in schools not only social network sites like lateness, talking, eating and unprepared and that according to the article “ the benefits of using social media in classrooms” By GDC team. To wrap up social networking sites despites it have disadvantages it also have many useful advantages for student’s educational program and education

There have been results that show that social media help and hinder education and learning. The help with social media is better communication with the teacher, and the hinder is that the students get distracted and do not pay attention. Susana Gomez wrote in her article that having the option of learning something that is relevant to the person’s life, like learning about technology and social media, they are more in favor of learning about those topics. (Gomez) Overall, social media can be a helpful, but also a hinder. Social media is useful for communication, and keeping in touch with friends.

The second article “The Upside of Selfies: Social Media isn’t all bad for Kids” by Kelly Wallace is about who social media can help teens and there problems around the world for teens”. Firstly social media is a dark place where teens can go and learn things and do things for fame that they should not do because it can harm them. The first example of this is in paragraph 4 of “Student Examines Negative Effects of Social Media on Teens” by Aurelie Krakowsky it states “They also put too much effort into following trends they see online instead of being themselves.” This shows that the internet can harm teens and have an effect on them teens are putting social media before themselves and others. All because of some of the trends it is making people so obsessed with social media. Some teens are getting hurt because of some of the trends they are doing to be popular and some of these trends can and will kill you.

Some people say that social media is dangerous for kids because it changes their behaviors and more importantly it affects their learning for school. It is dangerous because, they never know who they are chatting with online. Social media changes children 's behaviors because they do unhealthy things that are intended for people over 18 years of age. It also affects their education in a bad way by using abbreviations or slang that threatens their skills in writing. However, others say that social media is beneficial for kids because researchers see them expressing themselves on it.

Celebrities as well as social-media influencers have an immense amount of power to influence the consumers of media. And more often, it is how they strategize their market. Photos, videos and other products of media can easily be altered to display a false perception of reality. These alterations are negatively impacting the younger audience making them believe in what is presented rather than what is real. Hence to live in a better community, it is not only the duty of journalists, advertising agencies and directors but also us to showcase the truth and stay mindful about

Social media is becoming an ubiquitous in today’s society and today’s youth are spending a great deal of time using some sites to access in a public life.
