The interaction among some set of people in which they create, exchange information, share ideas using virtual communities, social media is a forum where people interact and talk with virtual people virtually for the purpose of knowing or gaining information from them. According to Merriam – Webster, social media are forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages and other content (such as videos). The rate at which people use social media is growing rapidly. More people are using Facebook, Twitter, linked in, tumblr and a host of others to interact with families, friends and strangers. The world has changed drastically, with the coming of this dreaded hydra monster, it affects each individual either positively, or negatively.
In a positive way, social media can be used to share idea, post about current events, and do research work. It can benefit business greatly in a positive way, the world is going digital which makes social media an important tool in marketing your business.
