Introduction:
“Most social network services are web based and provide means for users to interact over the Internet, such as e-mail and instant messaging. Social network sites are varied and they incorporate new information and communication tools such as mobile connectivity, photo/video/sharing and blogging.” (boyd, 2007)
The main objective of social networks are to connect people online all around the globe and with advancement of technology it becomes much more easier. Socialization networks have introduced so much facilities on single click like as communicating with texting, sharing images , audio and video sharing with all over the world, direct connecting. Most teenagers are spending at least an hour in these popular social media sites. Generally, 1 out of 7 minutes which are spent online by most of those who can access internet is spent on Facebook according to Shea Bennett.
"Using the internet and social networking sites actually appears to reduce loneliness and improve well-being” (Michael Marshall, 2009)
Social networking sites allow people to communicate with friends and this increased online communication strengthens their relationships, youngsters who face problems communicating face to face can easily communicate with social network and can reduce their lonliness.This helps them to stay in touch with friends they don't see regularly. Teenagers are making new friends and getting socialized. (Michael Marshall, 2009)
With social networking sites youth is awared of what is happening not only in their area but also in the world .
