CSR stands on tree fundamental pillars: social, economic and environmental and these may be viewed from different perspectives. According the Crane, Matten, and Spence (2014) there are four major types of theories and approaches of CSR. Instrumental theories: they are dealing with CSR from the perspective of wealth and profit. Political theories: their core is in the connectedness the power of corporation with society. A third classification is called integrative theories and they are basically talking about the integration of social demands in to a business. Last group of theories is called ethical theories and is focused on business and society and how they are creating or at least attempting to create a good society filled with ethical values. Is considered as a disadvantage that it is not possible to ensure that the questionnaire will be completed by a right person even if it is addressed to a manager. Consequently, the data can be biased To the selected small and medium – sized enterprises will be mailed a cover letter with a questionnaire. The cover letter will explain why the company was chosen and provide information about a purpose of the study. Further, if a company fill out the questionnaire will be offered with a free entrance to the CSR conference for SME and with the summary copy of the research. The questionnaire consists of four closed and one open-ended questions. It has been taken into account that open question has a couple of disadvantages such as post-coding which can be time consuming and un-reliable process that can lead to measurement error (Bryman, 2012). Modern day businesses have to be socially responsible; actions are taken to satisfy customers who might have a cause that they care deeply. Social responsibility occurs when a person or a company acts in an ethical and sensitive way towards important social issues of the day such as economic, environmental, and cultural concerns. Many businesses have a section of their website or business literature dedicated to social responsibility. Companies proudly detail the steps they are taking to address concerns that people have with the environment and economic issues. Having companies act in a socially responsible way is necessary because their actions have a tremendous positive impact on society.

CSR is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental issues in their business operations and interactions with stakeholders . The company aims to achieve a balance of economic, environmental and social objectives, while also listening to the needs of stakeholders.

Each theory highlights different points, different decision making style or a decision rule. Ethical theories are based on individual’s ethical ideology these theories allow a person to find an answer to an issue, to make a morally right decision or to justify a decision.

Therefore, it is imperative that organizations recognize that the actions of management in stakeholder relationships could affect the business operations of hotels. Stakeholder theory expanded on the concept of CSR. The theory identified the various stakeholder groups that were influenced by the way an organization conducted business. Freeman (as cited by Appiah, 2016) said that many CSR activities have various degrees of importance to stakeholders in any organization. The interests of the traditional group of external stakeholders cannot be satisfied without satisfying the needs of internal stakeholders according to Foster & Jonker; Hawkins (as cited by Appiah, 2016).
The students selected came from three sections to avoid prejudice of their perceptions. In order to assure manageability of the collected data, the questionnaire only included multiple choice, checklist, Likert scale, ranking/rating questions and did not include open-ended response
CSR plays an important role in world of business as it implies to do well by doing good. A large number of multinational units have set global standards, in which same technology is used throughout the world. This helps to create a strategic advantage as well as also serves to elevate the technological expectations. The CSR initiatives not only help in creating awareness and education, but it also helps in ensuring the growth of middle class people. Some of the companies make use of it by expansion of their consumer base in rural as well as urban areas.
The earlier opinion stated that a business cannot be ethical, but this opinion is not used anymore in the modern business. Today business has belief that they must be responsible for social since they live and operate within a social structure. The key factors that make business ethics is important at the quarter of the 20th century are corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, and globalized economy. The culture of an organization, or else we can call it as the philosophy of an organization which is related with ethics have a great relationship with the performance of a business in long and short term.
