IFSW: Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people. Principle of social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversities are central to social work. Underpinned by theories of social work, social sciences, humanities and indigenous knowledge, social work engages people and structures to address life challenges and enhance wellbeing.

Human rights
Human rights are rights that is a basic right given to all human being irrespective of their nationality, place where they live, sex, caste or ethnic origin, creed,colour, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally responsible to our human rights without any discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible.
Universal human rights are often expressed and are guaranteed by law , in the forms of treaties, international law, policies, amendments, UN declaration, constitutional law. Women around the world nevertheless regularly suffer violations of their human rights throughout their lives, and realizing women’s human rights has not always been a priority. Achieving equality between women and men requires a comprehensive understanding of the ways in which women experience discrimination and are denied equality so as to develop appropriate strategies to eliminate such discrimination. Women in India are always the victim of inequality and are deprived of social justice, even today girls are only taught to cook, neglected from studying, child marriage, rape, trafficking, and much more.
