Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual action and words that are unwanted by/or harmful to another person. It was seldom recognized or linked to the broader issue of violence against women and discrimination. Some experiences of sexual violence are hurtful violations of personal boundaries but may not rise to the level of a crime. However that does not diminish the victim’s experience of being harmed. Sexual violence is widespread, can happen to anyone at any ages, and threatens women and girls from a very young age. Sociocultural defined as combination of social and the culture. Basically, sociocultural also plays an important role in sexual harassment. In the 20th century, people moved towards improvement of technology and in even people’s thoughts also changed, people becomes more open minded and accepts every cultures and improvement in understanding among different society people. By looking at different majors of psychology, there are causes lead humans to involve in sexual harassment. After, studying these majors of psychology perspectives human will know the consequences of sexual harassment and try to be humanistic and behavioral. Moreover, this issue maybe will continue in our future generations hence, to prevent it as human need to find solution to avoid sexual harassment. In cases of sexual harassment between students, both classmates and administrators often victim blame the female in the situation. Victim blaming claims that women caused the harassment by dressing and acting inappropriately. “[These] judgements create an environment in which it becomes unlikely that the target of harassment will feel justified and supported in claiming her rights” (Chamberlain).
