Introduction
Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual action and words that are unwanted by/or harmful to another person. It was seldom recognized or linked to the broader issue of violence against women and discrimination. Some experiences of sexual violence are hurtful violations of personal boundaries but may not rise to the level of a crime. However that does not diminish the victim’s experience of being harmed. Sexual violence is widespread, can happen to anyone at any ages, and threatens women and girls from a very young age. Every year, the statistics of victims that have been assaulted by sexual harassment is getting increasingly in our country. Bernstein (2012)(9th Edition),Culture has been defined as accumulation of values, rules of behaviour, forms of expression, religion beliefs, occupational choices ,and the like for a group of people who share a common language and environment. Sociocultural defined as combination of social and the culture. Basically, sociocultural also plays an important role in sexual harassment. In the 20th century, people moved towards improvement of technology and in even people’s thoughts also changed, people becomes more open minded and accepts every cultures and improvement in understanding among different society people. In order, people being open –minded sometimes it becomes oppose to certain cultures. By looking at cross-cultural, which is a new perspective of how human behaviour and thinking across different cultures.
By looking at differences, people also start follows western cultures which a lot different than Asian cultures. For example, wearing modern clothes, partying at pub, can have sexual relationship before marriages are not Asian cultures. When, people especially women start to wearing modern dressing styles (mini skirt, lower neck shirts, shorts and so forth)which different from other cultures such as Indian, Arabic, Malay which are usually those society people covers people’s body part, so it leads to men easily get attraction and attention towards women. So, people are in critical circumstances which tend to be involved or be a victim of sexual harassment. By looking at different majors of psychology, there are causes lead humans to involve in sexual harassment. After, studying these majors of psychology perspectives human will know the consequences of sexual harassment and try to be humanistic and behavioral. Moreover, this issue maybe will continue in our future generations hence, to prevent it as human need to find solution to avoid sexual harassment. At, schools teachers should start to teach children about sexual harassment. These will help children to understand and know how to handle it in future
