Softball is my favorite sport. Softball is very fascinating to me, it is energetic, and fun to play. For most of my life I have loved softball. Softball is the perfect sport. It combines a lot of physical activity, skillfulness, and smartness. Softball is my favorite sport in general because it is the very first sport I start playing when I got in middle school. I really was interested in joining any team just so I can have something to do on my free time, also to stay out the streets, and stay out of trouble. I signed up and was on the team. When we had our first game, I was upset. I was mad because I was a catcher and wanted to be a pitcher. When we had our next practice for the upcoming game, I asked my coach can she place me as
Sports is everything to me, it gets me through life, teaches me lessons, and makes me who I am. My first sport that I ever played was baseball. Whenever me and my family went to the park it was to do drills and play baseball. Being the youngest and believe it or not the shortest it seemed that's all we did.
Elana Meyers Taylor was born to Janet and Eddie Meyers in California, on October 10, 1984. At a young age, Elana and her family moved to Douglasville, Georgia. That is where Elana grew up. As a young girl Elana never fit in.
I waited by the dance room door for what felt like hours, waiting to see if I made the varsity cheer team. The feeling of both nervousness and excitement overcame me as the coach walked over to the door to post the numbers of the few who made it. The past nine years of my life I played softball year round when I decided to trade in my bat and helmet for a set of pom-poms and a bow. Making the switch from softball to cheer was a big change, I had neither the skill nor physical capability to do what the sport of cheer incorporated.
National or local parks are great places to play. You can do just about anything at the park including softball. Playing softball is an amazing way to get in shape and have fun all at the same time. Softball is a great sport to keep you active, and healthy. It can be complicated sometimes, but that’s a great way to get your head in the game.
Another reason why you you should play is because like I said earlier, there is many positions to choose from that you could play. All of you option are pitcher, catcher, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, shortstop, and all of the outfield places. If you are better at one position than another one, your coach could place you were they think would be the best at. My final reason why you should play softball is because you might even have fun playing this sport. I think that it is a very fun sport to play.
When I was younger, I always wanted to be someone famous like a singer, an actress, or even an astronaut. But one day I came across a sport, but this was not just any boring sport to me, it was a sport that I knew I wanted to do for a career or even until I grew old. It might just be a ball and bat to some people but to me it felt more than a sport. It felt like an endless vacation from everything going bad in my life. That sport is softball.
Sports are all good for your mind, especially ones that involve lots of running. Softball doesn’t involve as much running as say football or soccer, but it does involve sprinting from base to base and when in outfield. Running in any form is good for you, so that’s a pro for me playing. Sports have both mental and physical benefits for the person playing. The
Baseball is considered by many to be America’s favorite pastime. Softball in many aspects is similar to baseball but in reality it is harder to play. This can be shown in all aspects of the game from hitting to pitching to fielding to catching. One major aspect where the difference is obvious is hitting. It has been scientifically proven that a 95 mph fastball generates 2411 lbs of force as it crosses the plate and a softball thrown at 65mph generates even more according to youtube.com.
It was so fun. I ended up actually liking softball so I tried my hardest to not get cut. "Girls I will put up who makes the team after tryouts," My coach tells us. I was confident that I would make it, but I really didn't want to get cut.
History of Softball It’s the championship game, last inning, two outs, bases are loaded, the game is tied, winning run is on third base, the pitcher throws the ball and “BOOM” the batter hits the game winning home run! The feeling someone gets in this situation is unbelievable. The game itself is unbelievable. Softball was invented long ago, it is not like baseball, and there are many different levels of the game.
I had just knocked in two RBI (run batted in). From the chalked-up dirt to the fresh cut grass, a softball field is always a place I love to be. No matter where I am in life I can always rely on softball to make me feel better. I started this physical activity in 5th grade. I found out that I love the sport and was exceptional at it.
I play softball because of the love I have for the game, and because of the feeling that takes my breath away every time I step onto the field. The softball field at Glendale Community College is now my new home for the next two years. Hearing your name being called and lining up alongside the first base line with your teammates before the game makes you feel worthy and excited to play such an amazing sport. As we gather in a tight circle just before we rush to our positions,
In Softball, there are two parts of the defense and my favorite is the infield. The positions in the infield include 1st base, 2nd base, Shortstop, 3rd base, Pitcher, Catcher, and sometimes there is a rover behind 2nd base. For the infield you need to have good reflexes, have a fast throw, have an accurate throw, and you have to be flexible. In the infield everyone has a different role because everyone is in a different part of the field and has to cover certain areas. The Pitcher's role is to pitch the ball to the batter and the pitcher has to know different pitches so that the batter doesn’t hit the ball every time.
People think sports are just sports, but in reality to athletes it’s an escape from life, it’s our second family, and most important we feel like we belong there. Sports make you feel like your apart of something bigger than a team. Softball has been my second family and I have made so many amazing friendships that might last for the rest of life and even if they don’t, I will never forget all my friends or the memories that I have playing ball with
In conclusion, softball helps develop certain life abilities that can not be taught by a normal teacher. It helps with your future and has people that you can always depend on. It is the non-blood family, that you can trust more than your blood family. Softball is by far the best sport to
