Abstract
Bullying has been a problem for years. The details and specifics are ever changing, but the problem remains the same. Solutions that may have worked in the past, may not fit the covert nature of the problem today. Although schools have continually been working to solve this problem for years, more needs to be done as far as education, prevention, policies, and procedures. Hopefully a solution to fit the modern problem will be found in the near future.

More recently; however, it is a more widespread and complex problem. Bullying comes in various forms including “overt and covert, physical, verbal, and psychological, as well as various forms of cyberbullying” (Faucher, C).
According to MerriamWebster.com, bullying is defined as “abuse and mistreatment of someone vulnerable by someone stronger, more powerful, etc.” They also define a bully as “a blustering, browbeating person; especially one who is habitually cruel, insulting, or threatening to others who are weaker, smaller, or in some way vulnerable, tormented by the neighborhood bully.” This is a very simplistic definition since bullying has many more forms today.
Bullying can be physical, verbal and social/psychological and includes cyberbullying. Physical bullying is the most obvious form, but it is so much more than that. Verbal bullying is when a person uses words to verbally cause harm to another through such things as teasing, name calling, threatening to cause harm and inappropriate sexual comments. Cyberbullying involves bullying a victim online through social media or other avenues. It can be very hard to
