The quiet ones are the dangerous ones. That is the case when it comes to Mark Kinney, the mastermind behind the plot to kidnap Mr. Griffin. In the book Killing Mr. Griffin by Lois Duncan, Mark is a malicious, sullen and charismatic character.

What he meant was that we are all like animals, some strong others weak. Rainsford is the main character in “The Most Dangerous Game” that is written by Richard Connell. In the story there is a conflict between the main character, Rainsford, and the villain, Zaroff. The story takes place in an isolated tropical island in the Caribbean. Zaroff and Rainsford share a character trait that determines Rainsford fate in the end of the story. Both are hunters and hunting for them is a lifestyle. “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is a story about a man, Sanger Rainsford, whose ideals and overall character change throughout the story, specifically about hunting, due to his encounter with General Zaroff. At the beginning of the story Rainsford is a stuck up man. He could not care less about any other living things other than humans. He believes all living wildlife are expendable and only there for his pleasure of hunting. During the story Rainsford has to make many quick and overall difficult decisions during his encounters with the ocean, General Zaroff, and the island wilderness to survive, that change how he thinks about animals. His decisions ultimately do help him survive in the long run, while making him a better person

A name, in theory, is a word or phrase that helps you recall a person or thing. In practice, a name also helps one recall the person’s or thing’s reputation. In Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, the characters’ decisions emphasize this quality. Not only does the name include the reputation and legacy of the people they identify, the characters’ choices and behaviors in The Crucible are motivated by the preservation of their dignity and the reputation associated with their names. By assessing the choices made, the inner personality traits of each character can be seen.

Throughout ‘A bridge to Wiseman’s cove’, James Moloney introduces to characters who are in despair. However, the reader is shown how the characters are rescued with the support of each other. The protagonist Carl Matt is in despair after moving to Wattle Beach, because his mother and sister leave him and his younger brother. Joy, a middle-aged woman is also portrayed as a character who is afraid to give love to her daughter. Another individual, Graham Duncan, commonly known as Skip is a character who is rescued from despair.

Cass McBride, one of the most popular girls in school who desires homecoming queen, has been unsuspectingly captured by a boy who threatens to take revenge on her, Kyle Kirby wants revenge from Cass for causing his brother David Kirby suicide, he had suffered an insurmountable rejection when he asks Cass out for a date. Kyle plans to carry out his revenge through long periods of torture by burying Cass alive. When Cass wakes up to finds herself conscious she is overcome with fear when she feels as though she is trapped in a dark and enclosed space. She becomes highly emotional, trying to find methods of staying calm during her buried state of doom, but then time again it would soon come back to her that she would not be able to handle the situation that she is currently in. Possibilities of rescue are highly low, Detectives Ben gray and the others are unable to find any clues after interviewing any possible suspects in the past 24 hours.

Cathy Ames has been criticized because she is completely evil. It has expressed throughout the novel that Cathy is inhuman. She has no emotion, no feelings, and no good in her. Many state that she is a symbol for Satan or a witch, who is pawn of Satan. People go so far in declaring that she is one of these evil spirits because even from birth she was filled with extreme evil and darkness, lacking characteristic that make up a human.

“Excelsior”. It means taking all the negativity and using it as fuel to find the silver lining. In the movie Pat Solitano has many things wrong with him. Parts of him are broken and some parts are things that he has no control over. For the parts he has no control over I came up with 3 mental disorders. The disorders that Pat shows symptoms of include Bipolar, Schizophrenia, and dissociative identity disorder. In this paper I will discuss examples in the movie where Pat Solitano thinks and acts like he has these disorders.

In Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods, all of the characters go to the woods and take part in those same three phases outlined by the Turners. The major characters in NW by Zadie Smith are obviously in the spotlight; however, it’s the minor characters that help us to understand the main characters. One of the best examples of this is Leah’s mother, Pauline. Throughout the duration of the novel we get to see multiple interactions between Pauline and Leah that shed some light on Leah. With most of the action happening to the main characters it is rare to have another character that has the authority such as Pauline. Just when you feel that Leah is a grown-up and makes her own decisions, her mother comes into play and gives us a reality check. In the foreword of the novel, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, there is a quote that reads: “But it’s so much more than a book about depression. This quote describes the feeling of the whole novel, which is about a kid named Craig Gilner who is battling depression, but also figuring out who he desires to be. Consequently, you’ll soon detect that Craig has an unexplainable strength that he doesn’t think he has till later through his journeys through a psychiatric hospital.
