Even though by the end of the Civil War each side had lost thousands of their men, and much of their morale, both the Union and the Confederate States of America had advantages through the beginning years of the war. The North had many advantages over the South. For one, the North had more dominance over the CSA in relation to the available resources for war. Because most factories were located inside the remaining states of the Union, the North could manufacture and produce their own supplies for war while the South was less privileged in this sense.
After the colonization of America took place, sectionalism emerged between the now industrialized North and the agrarian South. Throughout the existing sections in the North and South, different perspectives about social, cultural, and economic issues such as slavery, rights, and tariffs arose, proving to be the foundation for the American Civil War. The economy called for a strong sense of unity and support within the regions due to the need for modern transportation in importing and exporting purchased goods for war. Led by President Davis, the Confederate economy of the South was unsuccessful in reaching its highest capability. Meanwhile President Abraham Lincoln led the Union States of the North to a prosperous industrial economy.
From the 1960’s to 2000, the Confederate Flag flew on the SC State House flagpole and caused a great impact on the country. Along this period there were many conflicts, boycotts, and fires all around South Carolina. Even a march that included more than 50,000 people! The Confederate Flag of SC was taken off the statehouse pole on July 2nd, 2000 after 30 years of controversy. This conflict between SC lawmakers and the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) started at the 100th year anniversary of the Civil War, which was when the flag was raised; but African Americans thought it represented slavery.
Well people down south consider the confederate flag a symbol of back home. They do not think it was right they banned it. They disagree of the banment of the confederate flag because it isn't a thing of racism. The people that are against it they do not like the idea of it being banned because back then before the civil war came along there was white slaves also. If i do recall African Americans fought for their freedom.
