Interest groups are also known as special interest groups or pressure groups. It is an organized body of people with a basis of one more shared concerns. Interest groups are the most effective way to influence public policy. Just about any point of view expressed by an interest group is allowed a public airing, no matter how radical it is. Interest group come in all different sizes, with different goals and tactics to accomplish their mission. Typically interest groups have been broken up into two categories, economic being the first, it is also the most common. These types of interest groups usually seek some kind of economic advantage, or private goods, for their members. Examples of economic interest groups are; labor groups, agriculture
