From then I volunteered to work with the local Special Olympics group. For me this was a rewarding time in my life. The group had a range of children from five to adults. From this experience, the love to work with children grew for me. It also helped further develop my patience skills as it would take longer for the children to learn. From this it aided my communication skills and you have to explain activities in a simpler and easier manner. This experience has led me to want to peruse a master degree in intellectual ability after I finish my PGDE. It would be a dream of mine to work with special needs children on a daily basis in the local special school. I would find this job a rewarding and fulfilment one. In the summer of 2012, I worked
I am working with three programs: Programing corps, Reading corps, and Learning with Legos. I got a lot of volunteer hours at the library and had fun doing it. I loved learning with Legos the most because I got to be the leader and the kids were very fun to hang out with. That program was for elementary kids and I worked with them to build their creations and there was a theme each week. An example of a theme is super heroes, or a favorite book
I graduated college with a teaching degree and I got a job teaching with the Dubuque Community School District. My favorite part of my job was working with kids and helping them learn. I didn’t hate anything about it. When I was 23 I got married and had two kids, Maddison (Maddie for short) and Max, who are twins. My husband was a football player and my kids went to Sageville Elementary School, then Jefferson Middle School, then Hempstead High School.
I implemented Special Olympics activities and recreations for community events. In addition, I collaborated with school personnel and outside agencies to engage students in sports activities. These activities included track and field, bowling, appropriate social interaction with peers, adults, and school staff etc. I planned field trips for students in the surround communities and interfaced with communities’ organizers and school personnel to engage students in the events such as the Dixie Classic Fair, Santa Christmas Workshop, and going to the local museums etc.
I have selected Elementary Education as my major. Children have always been a part of my life and I can’t imagine my future without kids in it. Three years ago, I started a business that incorporated my love for children and my entrepreneurial spirit. I opened Courtyard Summer Camp - a half day, outdoor, adventurous summer camp!
In the past, lots of people have been mistreated for reasoning they can not control. One of these types of people is disabled people, primarily mentally disabled people. In past years people with mental disabilities were sometimes even seen as demons. This is common because of some beliefs, however closer to present day people with disabilities are left out. This is why Eunice Shriver 's started the Special Olympics.
I worked with young children in the resource room with the staff that included teachers, special needs assistants and an occupational therapist, who routinely visits the school. I found the experience immensely rewarding to see the progress the children made in such a short space of time. I was able to see and discuss the different exercises that the occupational therapist used with the children in order for them to make progress. This gave me a great insight into the work environment and daily tasks of an occupational therapist and it made me realise that I had the personality traits and abilities that suited this career
Being a special educator one day will expose me to a variety of students who have a variety of abilities. Granted every child is different, I will be able to use my interactions with friends now for the future reference. It also connects me to other students who are in the special education program. This will allow me to start my PLN. It is very important as a future educator to connect with other educators to get ideas, advice, and techniques from.
During my time at Sacopee Valley Middle School I believe I had a positive impact on the school. I can also say that I have had a positive impact on the middle school during my four years attending Sacopee Valley High School. One of my strong beliefs involves giving back to those who give to you, whether it be little or small. While I was a student at Sacopee Valley Middle School, I was a member of the Civil Rights Club for two years.
An Analysis of a Cross Country Team Success comes from the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, and a cross country team demonstrates this through the obligation and contribution of each person involved, consisting of; coaches, training/recruiting staff, equipment, facilities, the school, and most well known, competitors, the runners. These runners deserve a great deal of acclaim and credit for the effort and obligation they contribute through their performance. Although running focuses on the individualized aspect of competition, a heavy emphasis of teamwork is granted. The everlasting endurance these runners have aquired come from the work of many ‘behind the scenes’ actions, coming through precise details and planning. No single person,
I loved being with children and helping them learn and grow. When I graduated High School I got a job at a Daycare, which I still work at today. That was when I really knew that being a teacher was the ultimate goal and I was determined to make it happen.
Babysitter for Helping Others Misc. : I babysat children at a homeless center for parents who need to work late hours to earn more money. The children in the center ranged from 2-11 years of age. This included changing diapers, feeding, playing games, and making sure the kids get along. Counselor for a Summer Camp at Park Maitland School: I was a counselor at the camp for two summers.
Through my high school I was able to observe in a third grade class for over 150 hours. My next experience comes with my work of Big Brother Big Sister. My most recent and relevant experience is my job I had in USD 253 as a substitute teacher. This job was perfect because I was able to gain experience from kindergarten through 12th grade. Before this job I as sure i wanted to teach kindergarten, and then I subbed and realized I needed those older kids who could tell me what they wanted and could engage in meaningful conversation.
My plan was to teach kids at camp, but it was them who taught me the lesson I will never forget. Working with kids allowed me to grow and become an adult. I started working at a summer camp when I was 16 and I still work there to this day. It was my first job and I took it only because my mom wanted me to learn ‘responsibility’ and know what it’s like in the ‘real world’.

I have always wanted to specialize in something that involved children. Having this opportunity made me completely sure that I wanted to be around children for the rest of my life. The teachers would always ask me for help and for me it felt right. It felt like I belonged there. I gained a lot of knowledge as an individual.
