Naturally fermented food like our local sukang tuba offers more health benefits than juices and saps that are artificially fermented. It doesn’t take so much to create vinegar out of coconut sap or coconut water for that matter. Simply place the liquid in a tight container (although some would leave them uncovered to encourage yeast growth), and it would naturally ferment in several months. The murky substance in coconut sap vinegar is the vinegar mother, which indicates good fermentation process. Once the liquid has fermented or is sour enough, the mother is removed to prevent spoiling.
4. Contains Probiotics
Fermented foods like coconut sap vinegar are rich sources of probiotics, which promote healthy digestion. They have antimicrobial and antibiotic properties that help the body fight against common infections and illnesses. Therefore, cooking or eating with sukang tuba may be as good as drinking the infamous Yakult or other cultured milk drinks in the grocery.

Tomorrow we begin the month of October. October gives us a full month of colorful autumn and ends with the spooky day of Halloween. There are people who enjoy this holiday especially children and those who think it a pagan event. Personally I have always enjoyed Halloween just for the fun of it with nothing other than that. A kind of autumn celebration with carved pumpkins, colorful leaves and the ghosts and ghoulies just for fun.

I. Artificial dyes are found in a majority of processed foods in America. Most of these synthetic dyes are made of or based off of petroleum, a crude oil. Since these dyes are mainly petroleum based they can cause serious health risks on people, especially those diagnosed with ADHD, attention deficit/hyperactive disorder. Because of these potential dangers, laws dating back to the 19th century have been passed, banning the addition of dyes and other harmful substances to foods. Through the years there have been many debates, laws and protests against food dye and their effects on humans and animals.
