One major change is the world of technology. Our adult children and grandchildren fully embrace that world and live with their new tools every day. They fully embrace their laptop computer, their cell phone, their iPad, and their headphones for listening to their rock music. We can choose to criticize this new commitment to technology or at least be tolerant of this shift in communication and embrace some of these new skills ourselves.

• Recognize that many of the changes we are experiencing are good and positive additions to our world. Many of those positive changes are in the fields of medicine and engineering, for example. We are able to live longer and experience a higher quality of life due of modern medical innovation. The engineering world has helped us improve the quality of our homes, our highways, our of life now because of new innovation, so stop your insistence about being so critical our contemporary world.

• Finally, start to become aware of the many changes in our modern world we have accepted and enjoy them. Start with the increased quality of our automobiles and how comfortable they are to own and drive. Appreciate the improved operation of our modern appliances and approve and endorse these nice developments.
