The role and duty of married couples in educating, loving and caring for their own children is a prime manifestation of acting lovingly towards a completely distinct person. And, it is with this same loving culture seen in families that people are able to recognize that all are brothers and sisters of the same heavenly Father. By opening the mind and heart to this idea, “Christian parents will thus be able to spread their love beyond the bonds of flesh and blood”. Thus, the participation of children and parents in being a loving family does not end in itself rather families who live in accordance to Church teachings extend the loving service to the outside community as well – viewing outsiders not as outsiders but as brothers and sisters of the same Father. …show more content…

Although procreation and education of children are irreplaceable and the primary concern of families, it should not stop there. The family is thus, “The place of origin and the most effective means for humanizing and personalizing society” That being said, the loving communion and proper education amongst the members of a family becomes a catalyst for expanding the life of service to other members of the community. Hence, it is imperative that basic good values and virtues are taught within a family (specifically to children) since the family is considered as the principal place where these are learned. The family is at the forefront in teaching “human values of acceptance, service, solidarity, service, and thus contributes to human formation in a community”. Therefore, living out a truly Christian family life includes engaging in social and political matters.
