Then all the sudden you find all the coral and sea plants living on sea floor covered in trash and plastic, and then you see all the fish scavenging for food because the plastic has contaminated their normal food. The fish eat the plastic thinking it some type of new food and can choke cause that plastic isn’t suppose to be eaten. Also, other sea creatures are getting their legs, arms, or heads stuck in those plastic bottle holders. The death in sea animals is a horrible thing that’s happening when we don’t even know it. Yes, animals will die because of the circle of life, but dying because it choked or starved to death is a big thumbs down!
Hurricanes can destroy homes and cities, even obliterating entire countries. It destroys our habitat but what does it do to affect the habitat of every other animal on earth? Hurricanes can mix saltwater with freshwater causing animals in the water to die because they aren’t adapted to living in the different type of water. Floodwater can also retreat into lakes, bringing in more toxins and killing off the remaining animals still in the water and all the animals that dare to drink the toxic water. Sediment erosion can affect coral reefs and oyster beds causing even more deaths.
Nowadays debris is an integral part of humanity life. Mankind thinks about how to make the product easier and cheaper to use, but nobody cares what happens with waste after it was used. We contaminate the environment with every decade increasingly: muddied air and water, global warming are an output of human life. The worst thing is that from such attitude other living beings are dying. Millions of animals and birds cannot withstand such environmental changes; their populations become smaller and, eventually, disappear altogether from the face of the earth.
There is an estimated amount of two hundred and seventy thousand tons of plastic floating in the ocean (Main). When a whale eats plastic it sits in the stomach and eventually clogs the flow of the digestive tract. After the digestive tract becomes blocked the whale is unable to digest any real food. Not only does that threaten many marine animals, it is the main role of rising extinction rates for land animals as well. In 2010 an estimated sixteen sperm whales have been killed from gill nets (Kirby).
(Britannica, 583)eb They are named green sea turtles because of their fat not their shell. They have a lifespan of 80 years and their scientific name is Chelonia mydas. A lot of people have done bad thing to this beautiful creature. In Australia 100,000 turtles are killed each year for their shell and meat. (www.world wildlife.org) Also destruction crews will come to the beaches at destroy them.
If someone is caught violating the laws it will result in civil penalties up to $11,000 or criminal penalties up to $100,000 plus, one year of prison time. I am against whale poaching and believe it is a major wrongdoing in the world. Two thousand whales die a year for almost no reason. This is why whale poaching should be illegal all around the world.
Since the shark fins are second most valuable illegal trade, after drugs , the hunting is done around the world and the fins are sent to China and other countries where the Asian traditions exist. Tens of millions of sharks are every year facing a slow death because of finning. The shark is caught and they remove the fins and then throw it back into the ocean – still alive. The death is often in the end caused by starvation, being eaten by other fish or drowning since they can no longer be in constant movement and therefor not extract oxygen from the water. This long tradition has now led to some shark populations being declined to up to 98% in the last fifteen
When companies catch fish in the ocean they can’t tell which ones have been polluted and which ones haven’t. They look the same. When we eat marine animals that contain plastic, we in turn now have plastic in ourselves. The plastic will slowly kill us, just like it does with marine animals. Also, the ocean filters the air we breathe, and like said before, supplies 80% of the oxygen we breathe.
They are actually close to extinction. This is because people are going deep-ocean trawling. This means that a net is being drug along the ocean floor, sadly the blobfish gets scooped up as well, and even though it is often tossed back into the ocean, by then it is already too late. In 2006, nature conservationists from all over the world gathered to propose the restriction of bottom trawling on the high seas, but were unable to reach an agreement, leaving the fate of the helpless blobfish greatly uncertain, especially since the deep trawling fishing fleets of Australia and New Zealand are very active, and the blobfish isn’t found anywhere else in the world. The blobfish has become famous because it has been called “cosmetically challenged”.
I think that plastic water bottles should be banned because it’s pricey and expensive to the economy and to the public, they are lethal to animals, and plastic water bottles are polluting our environment. The first reason why I think that water bottles should be banned is that they are expensive and pricey to the economy. According to the deputy commissioner of sanitation for recycling and waste reduction stated “Plastic shopping bags are an enormous problem for New York City. He went on to say that the city pays ten million dollars every year to send 100,000 tons of plastic that are tossed in landfills in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. He also stated, “It is amazing to think of because a
You all have been hearing don’t pollute your whole life, but it still happens. Pollution is a huge problem especially in the ocean, the ocean plays a vital role to our survival and with all polluting it, it causes problems for us in the long run. Pollution causes a lot of damage to the ecosystems that live in the ocean and the ocean itself. When the oil spill happened in the Gulf of Mexico that was a bad disaster, that was man made that hurt an ecosystem in ocean. All that oil spread throughout the ocean causing a lack of sunlight to penetrate through the water deep making it hard for plants to grow and or prosper.
Sharks are driven to extinction because people want to eat their fins which serves no purpose to humans; shark fins have no nutritional value or serve any medicinal purpose. Finning is the inhumane practice of cutting off all of the shark’s fins and throwing the body back into the ocean. The sharks either drown are eaten by bigger fish or starve to death. Soon sharks are going to become extinct because of the 100 millions of sharks killed every year. If shark finning continues it will throw off the biodiversity of earth.
