Pressure Pushing For Good Peer pressure is usually seen as a nuisance to various parents, teachers, students and other social groups. There have been numerous songs written about how pressure can affect any individual, such as “Under Pressure” by David Bowie from the band Queens and “Pressure” by Paramore. Pressure has primarily been described as a strong negative force that usually leads to fights breaking out and trouble. Negative pressure on individuals can cause stress and even cause a mental break down. Contrary to belief, I believe peer pressure can also be used positively. Instead of forcing someone into horrible shenanigans with destructive consequences, it could force an individual to be responsible for their own actions and to be proud of what they do. Pressure is prominent in girls of all ages and could be used to prevent social blunders and fights. Bad habits of everyday people could be broken and exchanged for new ones. Risky or dangerous situations with negative consequences could be avoided. Positive pressure can be used to make a change for the greater good and well-being of people. For starters, girls have a large understanding of how cliques and social structures work. Girls are also the largest part of the social structure. Popularity can cause more people to be pressured, but in the article “The Queen Bee and Her Court”, written by Rosalind Wiseman, it is said “your daughter doesn’t have to be in a “popular” group to have these roles within her group
