Safety in Schools As parents, are you scared to send your children to school because of all the violence in the schools? As students, are you worried that a shooter might come into your schools? There has been many school shootings in last year that have put a major toll on students, staff and parents. Should there be more safety precautions in schools? I believe that we should have more safety in schools but not to the point where the students become overwhelmed. Many precautions and different safety techniques are necessary in order to make schools safer. The precautions and safety measures we need to take in our schools all have to start by improving help lines if something bad happens. Improving help measures is to have more lockdown drills when the students are moving through out the school day. In schools they usually practice lockdown drills when everyone is in an certain class but what would happen if the shooter was in the hall way when all the students where moving from class to class. Do the students know what they have to do and where they have to go? Another example of this would be in the lunch room, where should the students go if the mass shooting happened than? I believe that if we practice lockdowns during those times we would be more prepared if a shooting took place. Also I believe that more schools should have a connection to the police department like the school in Indiana. The police department can track the intruder in real time in this Indiana
