Eco system capital is defined as the total number of commodities/ goods and services provided by nature to human beings. As such, it is difficult to weigh such an important factor in terms of money, however, environmentalist have taken out a rough figure of $41 trillion per year. Large amounts of the ecosystem capital are occupied by animals and other small species. Thus, it becomes even more essential to keep their protection as our top most priority. However the kind of protection which must be provided to the wildlife may differ from person to person and country to country. Wildlife trafficking refers to the illegal trade of animals (dead and alive).
