TITLE The Green Lungs of Bangkok LEAD PARAGRAPH I 've lived in Bangkok for majority of the 27 years I 've spent on planet Earth. I have never heard of Bang Krachao, popularly known as the "Green Lungs of Bangkok" up until 2013, when I stumbled upon an eco-friendly tree house located in Bangkok while surfing the web. I knew I wanted to come back here and explore the area properly before the year ended. PARAGRAPHS What is the "Green Lungs of Bangkok"? Bang Krachao is an automobile-free, gorgeous green oasis depicting Bangkok as it was over 100 years ago. It 's the greatest and closest escape from Bangkok, within Bangkok itself. Almost an island but not quite, Bang Krachao is accessible by car from one main road as well. In the green lungs of Bangkok, you will find nothing but coconuts, small villages, jungles, cycling paths, temples, and fresh air! I visited the floating market in Bang Krachao at the beginning of the year by accident, but never in my wildest dreams could I imagine such a cute abode full of lush green trees and water canals in the middle of Bangkok. I 'm going to go ahead and dub this Bangkok 's best kept secret. Getting There You can access Bang Krachao by car, but you 'll only be able to drive on one main road that cuts through this semi-island. I would recommend …show more content…
Cycling through these narrow paths while passing villages, stick houses, jungles, and farm lands was entirely too much fun. If you enjoy cycling, this is the best it 's going to get near Bangkok. If you aren 't very good at cycling, you should be warned of the narrow 50cm to 80cm cycling trails. One slight mistake, and you could find yourself in the canal. Luckily, I didn 't fall into the canal, but considering my track record of clumsiness, I would not have been surprised if I

To sum up the book in 5 sentences, it was a book about this guy who got caught smuggling Heroin from Thailand to Australia. He got caught in Thailand after they suspected this drug activity at the airport one of the previous times, and the Thailand police contacted the Australian police about it and wanted them to keep a close eye on him, so they did and then put him and his accomplice in Thailand prison, at first he got “life” and the prisons there are nothing like how they are here. He spent most of his time in Bang Kwang, but anywhere he went the guards beat the prisoners, sometimes to death, and they liked chains around the ankles. There was a riot one time when this person in Building Four (one of the worst places) stabbed a guard and everyone in that building followed, him and Paul stayed in their cell fearing about what the guards would do, which was making them crawl through human feces. Heroin was very big thing in the prisons as

1226 Piedmont School Rd resided directly across the street from an enormous, private K-12 academia of the same name; the house serving as the poster child of the neighborhood’s median income to all who commuted to and from the institution. In front, the driveway curved in a half-circle, at just the perfect angle to make mom’s new E-class look pristine facing the road. Supplementing the view on either side, two Japanese Maples my father planted for my brother and I as a birthday present: one named after him, and the other after me. In the spring the leaves sprouted out from the branches with five tips, like hands reaching for the sun; in the fall they turned bright red, like a bouquet of roses before perishing. Against the backdrop of the brick

Pair the greens with endless hills and mountains, and not one trail appears flat, but instead, the terrain is constantly traveling either up or down. Every house passed is a small, shanty, and generally made of painted metal. These homes do not amount to much by our American standards, but the pride and care taken in these structures are much more than ours. It appears very inch of these abodes and all belongings are taken care of and held with great pride. These trails, however, don’t make the walk to other villages as simple as one might think though. The Yanomamo must come prepared for what could be up to a “10 days’ walk” (Chagnon 46). Camps are set up along these discreet trails in order to have plenty of stopping places for rest and sleep. Things like thorns are also big problems. However, the most prominent source of pain stemming from the trails are the snakes.

It was a warm friday, there was a slight breeze in the air, the sun was out and it was the first time in forever that a drop hasn’t fallen from the sky. It was October. However stressed I am, these blooming flowers can always help me to forget the stress.
