to be an American has been long sought after by many. So many people die every year trying to get to the borders of our country. Why do people risk their lives to come here? People come to America to have a chance at freedom. The most important aspect of being an American and having freedom is the ability to protest the government in legal ways to have a voice.

King was able to use his freedom to create a better America, which is why we have freedom in the first place.

If I had to make up one law that every American had to follow I would not make one up. I would not make up a law because since we already have basic rules to not infringe on anyone’s rights I feel like any rule that I would make up would violate someone’s agency. If I did make a rule though I feel like there would still be protests about how it should not be a law.

A big time that he stood up for his and a lot of colored people's rights was at the Selma to Montgomery march in 1965 and this was an important protest because it was a bunch of people fighting for the right to vote. Also, Martin Luther King got shot on April 4, 1968, in a hotel at 6:05 when he was standing outside on the balcony of his hotel room. James Earl Ray was the guy that shot him, and he did it because he thought that the colored should not have any rights and he did not like that he was making change in the US. Out of this, The Civil Rights Movement emerged which was a peaceful social movement that strove for equal human rights for black Americans.
