A faint scream is heard across the murky swamp. It was young boys in the swamp that had lived there for many years people say that if your encounter the little boy that you will be cursed and can never leave this spooky swamp. How do I know this? I know this because I have been running from him for years in this swamp it’s like he’s my own shadow. It was a long time ago I was hunting with my dog and he ran off and my light wouldn’t work then that’s when he appeared by the pond he was coming out of the water after me he had a knife and he tried to stab me but he missed and just cut my arm a little. I ran and I have been running for years with no escape of this curse. This curse must have no ageing because I have been a boy for years. Wait!!

The speaker struggled with the swamp. Oliver expresses this with the use of strong diction and full imagery. Powerful dark words are used, and the swamps omnipotent grasp is felt. Through the use of structure and enjambment the intensity and pace builds to the end where a hope is exposed
Breathing deeply, I retched at the sickening smell of rotten flesh and pus. Looking around, I caught a brief glimpse of the creature that was stalking me. Noticing my stare upon it, the creature melted into the shadows as if it was never there. This wretched labyrinth was starting to get to me.
Being on the island everyone is contsantly faced with the fear of the unknown the younger boys need someone to protect them from the fears on the island. Although nothing manages to scare the boys as much as the beastie does. When a little boy with a mullberry birthmark informs everyone that he has seen a beastie. The Witch of the Blackbird Pond was about a girl named “Kit” or Katherine Tyler who ended up meeting a lady named Hannah Tuff, who people thought was a witch. Kit’s journey began when she moved to Wethersfield to live with her aunt named Rachael after her grandfather passed away. She traveled on a boat called the dolphin, and met Nat Eaten and flirted and hung out with him. She also met a polite, young man named John Holbrook. During the trip they stopped by America, and Kit got off the boat.
Only Simon is able to recognize that the beast is not a monster or the pig's head, it is the evil that lives inside all the boys and the others on the island do not understand that.
(Golding, 77). Although the boys laugh at Simon’s idea, his belief conforms Golding’s idea that inner evil exists. The boys develop into the beast when they kill Simon. Simon was desperate to explain the unidentified creature on the mountain but the boys weren’t in the mood for listening to him. “You’re next…” The horror creator, as the legends say, was filled with mysteriousness; so mysterious that people tried to hunt for him yet none of them ever come back; some say he only appears during the night stalking people, making the victims have a trauma for their lifetime. However, he was only a mystical creature; we knew nothing about him; whether he exist or not; whether he is a bad person or not. I was a type of a guy who wouldn’t believe in such urban stories; this soul is created just to make children behave themselves.
