1) Yes I do believe that sporting events contribute to the unification of a nation. Sporting events help provide an environment where people can unite and work towards a common goal. Sport also creates an atmosphere where people of all different race or religion can be brought together in their support for particular sports and sports teams. Sporting events also encourage different kinds of people to show respect and tolerance for one another while sharing the same space and environment in support of a particular sport or sports team. Drugs have a serious impact on performances in sport. It is reasonable to assume that anyone taking performance enhancing drugs before sporting events will have an unfair advantage over the opponents and therefore should be disqualified for taking said drugs. This creates a need to test for drugs before sporting events to make sure no one is receiving an unfair advantage.

2,2) Yes, drug testing is justified at a school level. One of the many reasons for this is because certain drugs not only enhance performance but also strength and hormones. Lance not only beat his fatally diagnosed metastatic testicular cancer but pushed on to win seven consecutive Tour de Frances ' as well as many other races. Through these achievements Lance Armstrong represented a never give up attitude that inspired all of his fans. Lance Armstrong was the living embodiment of commitment and determination. Not only was he a good role model on the road but he also inspired many through his various charitable foundations. A good sporting role model should inspire you to better yourself in the sport and in your life. This is exactly what Lance did through his charity work. Lance Armstrong was a hard worker and encouraged millions of people to push their limits and challenge the impossible. He was a true inspiration and had the characteristics to embody a great sporting role model. However, even though Lance Armstrong seemed like a hero to many from an outside perspective, Unfortunately this was just another case of something that was too good to be true. On January the 18th 2013 Lance Armstrong confessed to doping on the Oprah Winfrey show. This was an extremely dark and devastating day for all his fans. Many of his achievements were stricken from him and he lost all credibility in the sport and in the eyes of the public. Regardless of all the charity he has done as well as the tremendous achievements he has accomplished I believe that he will always be remembered as the man
